Betty saw quick flashes of Alec in her mind hitting her kicking her forcing himself on her but she stayed calm she put a hand back on Evan accidentally showing him the flashes

”I wasn't going to let my only brother die!” Evan argued. ”You didn't have to run. If you had stayed with Charles then none of that would have happened.”

But Lysander wasn't listening. He already knew that in hindsight. ”You turned me.” he almost whispered. His mind stuck on that one fact.

She placed a hand on Evan accidentally showing him her flashes

Evan gasped at the images that appeared in his mind. He quickly turned to Betty, opening his mouth to say something but the words would not come out.

Betty realized what she did and looked down

Evan looked at her in sympathy. ”Was that the future or your past?” he asked softly, wanting to hug her comfortingly.

" my past" she muttered

Evan sighed and gave in to what he wanted, wrapping his arms around her. ”I’m sorry you went through that.” he whispered. ”But I promise, you’ll never have to worry about that man again.”

Betty sniffled a tear rolling down her cheek

Evan kissed her forehead. ”As an Alpha and a Queen, he won't be able to touch you again.” he assured her, even though Evan was making plans to make sure that that man disappeared for good.

Evan cupped his cheeks " thank you" she said

Evan gave her a soft small smile. ”It’ll be alright.” he promised her.

Betty glanced over at Lysander over her shoulder

Lysander was trying to focus on his breathing to take his mind off the recent shock of his Vampiric origin.

Betty smiled softly at Evan

Evan smiled back at her. ”You gonna be alright, angel?”

Lysander looked up sharply at the nickname. He couldn't believe what he just heard.

Betty pulled back and looked at him

”Hey, what’s wrong?” Evan asked confused, letting her step back.

Lysander clenched his fists.

" nothing" Betty said with a shake of her head

”No, come on. I know something’s wrong.” Evan shook his head. ”You can tell me what I did.”

" it's nothing just the angel thing" she said

”What about it?” Evan asked, tilting his head slightly. ”I mean, you literally gave half your heart to someone who lived without one for centuries. If that doesn't make you an angel, I don't know what does.”

" I just don't think you should call me that" she said

Evan raised a brow at her. ”Does it make you uncomfortable or something?” he asked.

”She doesn't want you to call her that because I do.” Lysander told him with a glare. ”Angel, love, darling, princess, my queen… She's all of those to me.”

Betty looked at Evan with a small nod
