”Somebody ask for a rescue?” Evan asked with a friendly smirk.

¨Eeehhh¨ Betty Sqeauled launching herself at him and hugging him

Evan chuckled and hugged her back. ”It’s good to see you again, Betty.”

¨To you too Evan¨ she said

Evan smiled at her. ”You wanna get out of here? Or did you want to introduce me to your friends?” he asked nodding in Lysander and Henry's direction.

Betty turned her head looking at her two boys

Lysander wasn't really looking at anyone, still a bit stunned at the idea of the Vampire King wanting to meet his wife.

Henry, on the other hand, seemed a bit more pale than normal as he saw Evan. ”We’ve already met before. I’m surprised that you two know each other though.”

Evan smiled and gave Henry a small shrug. ”We attended High School together. How do you know Betty?” he asked casually.

Betty smiled and grabbed Evans hand and laced thier fingers like they used to do in highschool

"We dated for a few years. I think it was after she graduated." Henry explained a bit more calmly, before glancing at Lysander. "I don't know if you two have met but this is my brother, Lysander, and Betty's husband."

Lysander looked at Evan in slight confusion but nodded as a greeting.

Evan's smile froze for a moment as Henry introduced Lysander but he quickly shook it off. "Married? When did this happen?" Evan congratulated Betty.

" A few months ago…by the way ev you look amazing" she said

Evan laughed at the familiar nickname. She was the only one who called him that. ”As always. And you look very nice as well.” he smiled at her. ”Can I also say how glad I am that you got away from that creep Alec?”

"yes… I'm going to assume that your heart is still beating" she said "since you're alive"

"It is." Evan smiled gratefully at her, placing a hand over his slowly beating heart. "Though there were a few times where it almost stopped." he said as he raised a brow at her. "Almost knocked me off my feet a couple of times."

" yeah sorry about that I may have died a couple times" she said

”Oh, Betty.” Evan sighed. ”How are you standing here then? And is that what happened to your hair?” he asked. ”Don’t get me wrong, it looks good.”

Betty blushed "no I'm a alpha" she said

”Wait! You’re the new Alpha?” Evan asked, completely stunned.

Betty nodded a piece of hair falling in her face

Evan looked at her and gently pushed back her hair, showing off her pointed ears. ”Incredible.” he smiled softly. ”Well, this makes things easier. Though you being married… I’d heard the new Alpha was a woman but I didn't expect it to be you.”

Lysander looked at the two, raising a brow at Evan’s comments. ”What do you mean?”

" Come inside" Betty said stepping to the side to let him in

”Thank you.” Evan said as he stepped inside. His dark eyes landed on Lysander for a moment before he returned his attention to Betty. ”I suppose I should tell you something, milady, but before I do I just want to assure everyone that I have no intention of harming any of you.” he said, slipping into a slightly more formal way of speaking.

Lysander couldn't help the cold shudder that he felt from Evan’s look.

She nodded " go on what is it?"

Evan chuckled a little. ”I never thought I would be nervous to tell someone this but…” he took a calming breath before speaking again. ”Betty, I’m a Vampire. Not just a vampire, I’m their equivalent to an Alpha.”

Henry's jaw dropped. ”You’re King Evan?” he asked stunned before kneeling out of respect.

Not knowing what else to do, Lysander just bowed politely since he wasn't going to take a knee in the house he and his wife shared.

Betty smiled "you have everything don't you great hair royalty my heart" she said

”Well, half of it at least.” Evan chuckled. ”You know now that I didn't really need you to give it to me but I still cherish it. And Becoming vampiric royalty was not an easy feat.”
