”I forgot you knew archery.” Henry chuckled a little. ”Looks like the right kind of wood too. Just be sure to aim where the heart would be. More damage that way… Or the head.”
”I forgot you knew archery.” Henry chuckled a little. ”Looks like the right kind of wood too. Just be sure to aim where the heart would be. More damage that way… Or the head.”
She smiled " remember Henry I never miss… Unkess I want to" she said
Henry smiled and nodded. ”Let’s call your brothers and head over to Alec’s place. Then we can wreck house.”
" we don't need to I can just whistle and they'll come now come on we're going to the lake" she said
”Lead the way.” he encouraged.
Betty headed off " you know that abandoned car my the lake?" She asked " that's my car" she said
Henry followed, easily keeping pace with her. ”I know you mentioned the lake before but I don't remember you telling me you owned a car.”
" I'm full of suprize hen" she said
”Oh, I know you are, Bets.” Henry smirked. It had been a while since he had an actually decent brawl but Alec didn't seem like he was older than Lysander so how much of a fight could this guy put up?
They approved her car and Betty popped the trunk revealing bottles of vervain and wooden stakes and all kinds of weapons.
Henry stared, a little startled at the anti-vampire arsenal Betty was showing him. ”Wow. Uh… That’s a little terrifying.” he admitted. ”How long have you had all this stuff?”
" since I've known you were a vampire" she said " now let's go save your brother" she said
”And why did you never use it on me?” he asked. ”I was a jerk to you when we dated. I know that now but with this stuff, you could have offed me easily.”
She got in the drivers seat " Do you kill someone just because thier mean. . .you didn't pose a threat to my life I wasn't going to pose one to yours" she said.
Henry sighed and got in the passenger seat. ”Thanks for that then.” he gave a weak smile. He was genuinely appreciative that she never decided to use the stuff on him… but he was starting to think of a few times he might have deserved it.
Betty took off as soon as he was in "your gonna go straight into the basement there's a loft at the top of the basement that I'll go they won't be able to see me up there" she said
”Makes sense. They’ll expect you to go straight Ly and try to get him out.” Henry agreed. ”Do you know how he’s being held? Chances are if he can't get out on his own…”
" he's chained up laced with vervain I'm guessing" she said
”Ouch. Like the chains are covered in it?” Henry clarified. ”That’ll leave some new burns.” he winced. ”I hope they don’t have salt.”
"Why" Betty asked Concern laced in her voice.
”Well, it doesn't actually hurt us. It just…” Henry sighed. ”This is embarrassing and I don't know why this is a thing but if someone spills something, like salt, sugar or rice… Uhh… We… We count it.” he ended in a mumble, looking out the window.
Betty giggled "You count it? Thats riddicioulous!" she said.
Henry gave a small chuckle. ”I know it is. But for some reason, we vampires can’t help it. Not even Charles can resist.” he told her. ”And I’m talking every. single. grain. It either buys a victim time to get away or keeps us rooted in place. Even if the sun is burning our backs; we can't really stop.”
"I'm So Making Rice Tonight"Betty said with a small chuckled
”Hey, missy. Don't forget; you're a vampire too.” he chuckled. ”You could end up counting for hours.”
