(So how exactly are they going to get to the school?)
(So how exactly are they going to get to the school?)
(inside the letters are instrucutions to the nearest portal there. think of it as a convenient rip in time and space
(Oh, okay, thanks for telling me!)
After the two had read the letter, Florence's mother hugged her and smiled widely. "Be good while you're over there." The woman said, watching as Florence bounded off to her room. Once she was in the doorway, the red haired girl spotted her suitcase and grabbed the handle, pulling it along behind her. Inside of it were clothes, school supplies, and her laptop among other toiletries. Saying goodbye to her mother, Florence shut the front door to the white house and began walking down the street on the sidewalk.
"Okay, now where was it again…?" Florence mumbled, pulling the letter from the back pocket of her jeans. In neat handwriting was the directions, Left of your driveway, in the woods behind of the abandon house. Letting out a puff of air, she started off towards the specified area.
Once she had walked a bit down the street, Florence gazed at a big, empty house. The paint was peeling and the second floor's windows were shattered. Making her way through the back yard of the house, Florence created stepping stones for herself out of the iron in the soil. It would really suck if I were bitten by a snake. She thought, smiling as she saw a large swirling pool of purple and blue liquid. Hopping down from her footholds, Florence landed on the forest floor, which was covered in dead pine needles. She stared down into the pool. "This must be it." She said, sticking a hand through first. Though it appeared to be liquid, there was absolutely nothing wet about the pool.
Finally, she plunged into the portal with her suitcase in hand. She hoped she wouldn't fall from too far up.
Vita floated through the magic pool in his backyard, arriving in front of a majestic manor with huge gates. He floated through the gates, his mouth open in wonderment.
Landing on the ground with a thud, Florence clutched the handle of the suitcase. "I expected the fall to be worse," She said, standing up and dusting her self off. Although the fall hadn't been much, she had still managed to bite her tongue with her sharp back most teeth. These were something that often intimidated people, but Florence had learned to accept it. After all, she hadn't gotten the trait from any of her family members, so where in the world did it come from?
Vita heard a thud, he turned to the source of the noise and saw a girl. "Hello!" He said cheerily, floating over to her.
(What
What if Luciana just went with a suitcase full of dirt and seeds.)
Blowing stray hairs from the sides of her bangs from her face, Florence looked up and in front of herself. As she did so, she noticed a green haired boy that couldn't have been much older than her. "Oh…Hey!" She said, trying to sound optimistic through the pain that had finally manifested itself in her mouth. It could've been worse. She thought, feeling her tongue. There was an obvious cut, but other than the pain, she wasn't concerned. With the razors she had for teeth, injuries were common.
(Sounds like a foolproof plan. I see no flaws in it XD)
(Lolll. xD)
"Are you okay?" Vita asked, tilting hia head as his stable form flickers for a second. "Nevrmind, I can tell you're hurt." He said, peering down from his position in the air.
Yuzuki looked over the letter again. She was traversing the city streets, dragging a suitcase. behind her. A messenger bag was slung over her left shoulder, and it bounced as she walked. The half-kitsune had an illusion over herself that made her tail and ears invisible to humans. She was glad that she wouldn't have to do this much longer; once she reached the high school she'd be attending, Yuzuki wouldn't have to worry about hiding her identity from humans. "106 Preston, 106 Preston…Ah! 106 Preston!" Her face lit up when she reached the destination, despite the way the house looked. It was a Victorian-style house and would undoubtedly have been beautiful if it hadn't fallen into a state of utter disrepair like it had. The 'home' even had graffiti on it, several random, colorful designs and some less-than-friendly words haphazardly sprayed on the front in varying vibrant hues. As Yuzuki walked onto the overgrown yard, a whistle sounded from the shadows. Three boys, seventeen or eighteen if Yuzuki had to guess, emerged from a busted-out window. One of them was armed with a baseball bat that had barbed wire wrapped around it. A little cliche, don't you think? Yuzuki thought. The one wielding the bat appeared to size her up, his gaze lingering on certain areas–take your guess which ones. He licked his lips–no, I'm serious, the bastard licked his lips, and the other two sniggered to themselves. Yuzuki rolled her eyes, knowing how this would go, placing her hands in front of her as if she were holding a ball by its sides. "Hey, sexy," he said, sneering at her. "What's an a–" he didn't finish his sentence, being cut off by shock as a ball of purple flame appeared between Yuzuki's hands. The leader–at least, that's what Yuzuki thought his role was–and his goons began to scream, but they didn't escalate in volume too much. Instead, the boys' eyes glazed over and their jaws went slack. Their cries died in their throats as they fell under Yuzuki's hypnosis. Her eyes appeared to be giving off a slight glow, though it may have been the foxfire reflecting off of them.
"When I snap my fingers, you won't be able to see me. You'll feel an overwhelming urge to go back to your homes, or at least away from this place. You won't want to ever return here. Do you understand?" Yuzuki finished off the suggestion with a question. She didn't want any mistakes or misunderstandings. All three boys nodded slowly. "Good." And with that, Yuzuki extinguished the foxfire and snapped her fingers. The trio flew out of their trances, looking around at each other in confusion. As they bickered, walking away, Yuzuki blew right past them and entered the house. She walked down the stairs warily, hearing them creak dangerously under each step and wincing when her suitcase fell onto each of them with a thud. The blue-purple liquid shone dully in the darkness of the house's basement. "This must be the portal, huh?" Yuzuki said aloud, then let go of her suitcase, letting it fall over with a clatter, and padded over to it. She stuck a hand into the pool. It came out dry. "Yep, definitely it." The teenager walked back over to her suitcase, picked it up, and plunged into the portal.
When she came out on the other side, Yuzuki landed right next to another girl. She stumbled, surprised and more than a little prone to tripping over her own feet, and bumped the redhead. "Ah! Sorry about that!" Yuzuki exclaimed.
(wow I missed a lot. So Simone doesn't know she's a witch and she'll find out as we go if that's cool)
Simone heard the mail truck driving slowly down the street, stopping at each house one by one before getting to hers. She dragged herself put of the warmth of he blankets to get the mail before leaving it until the next week. When she opened the mailbox, it was filled with a whole bunch of junk mail from the beginning of the month. She sighed deeply before pulling out the mail, apologizing the the driver for trying to stuff it in. She threw it on her coffee table but one golden-lined envelope slipped out and fell on the ground along with some of the junk mail. She put the magazine ads on the table and opened it wondering what it was. It was labeled confidential mail and she felt special for a quick second. When she read what was enclosed in the document her jaw dropped, the paper fell out of her hands and hit the ground slowly. She didn't know what word shocked her the most, witch, powers, magic school?! It wasn't a bad surprise though, her dreams instantly came true and she wasn't going to be like those cliche kids in the movies and not take the offer. She took her suitcase that she hadn't used in years and started packing. It came with an airplane ticket already in it and she called an Uber. The airplane would arrive in half an hour so she spent the time texting close family members about it. Apparently they knew about it and enrolled her into the place.
(I wrote enough for this response)
(I'm so sorry that I haven' replied sooner! I was a bit busy earlier.)
Florence waved her hands in a friendly but dismissive manner. "Nah, I'm fine. It happens a lot really, my teeth are way sharper than they're supposed to be." She explained, giving a brief toothy smile. Just as she had calmed her nerves, a thump sounded from beside of her and instantly she brought up crumbly looking walls around her out of shock. Letting out a shaky breath, Florence looked at the walls. They were paper thin. There must not be many metal compounds in the ground here. She thought, allowing the poor structures to disperse and sink back into the ground. Looking up, Florence saw who had bumped into her and listened as the girl with the ombre hair apologized.
"Don't worry about it, falling from the portal wasn't fun for me either." Florence said, finally standing up. She brushed herself off, and noticed for the first time that it wasn't quite as cold here as it was where she lived. Despite the current weather where she lived, the rust red haired girl usually wore something similar to what she had on that day; a yellow thick strap tank top and skinny jeans.
@EmptyNebula it's good to see that you're jumping in!))
"It's good to see that you're okay! I'm Vita, a forest ghost." He said cheerfully as he waved to the new girl. He was super excited to make new friends!
Simone took her suitcase from the airplane, tired from her trans-Atlantic flight. She knew she would suffer some jet lag but she didn't care. She read the directions on the letter and it directed her to a bush. No way am I going through that. She told herself, it was one of those spiky bushes that poke you on touch. She put her finger gently on one leaf and it didn't feel like anything she could describe. Her finger went through and it let out a little ripple and she quickly pulled it out. She looked around before going inside, pulling her suitcase with her. She fell on her knees and her hair messed up a little before she put it back where it was. She saw some people walking around before she got up and brushed her pants off.
Yuzuki smiled. "Yeah, it'd definitely suck if you got hurt and missed the first day, huh? I'm Yuzuki. Half kitsune, half human," she introduced herself. "Magic school. Hey, at least I won't have to hide my ears and tail anymore. Oh–speaking of…" her eyes got that strange glow again, and ears and a tail seemed to sprout out of their hiding spots. In actuality, Yuzuki had just lifted the illusion. They'd always been there. "It's kind of a pain to keep them hidden all the time. I guess I don't have to worry about that anymore."
"Cool ears! Also, I can't get hurt, I'm dead!" He said cheerfully, floating down more so he could have the illusion of standing up. (Which he was unable to do) "Yeah! This is the first year that they're accepting dead people into the academy!"
Florence nodded in agreement with what Vita had said about Yuzuki's ears and tail. "Yeah, that's really cool!" She said, wheeling her suitcase over to her legs. Oh, so he's dead? He doesn't seem to be too sad about it. Maybe it happened a long time ago? Florence thought, once more almost jumping out of her clothes as yet another soon to be student landed on the ground. This time, it was a girl with brown hair which was pinned into a ponytail. As the stranger got to her feet, Florence turned to face her. "Hello!'' She greeted, happy to notice that the pain was gone.
"Hey, so I am clearly new and I don't know where to go. I have a schedule but I don't know what it means. Also, I'm apparently a witch, are there other witches here." She rambled, before taking a breath. "Sorry, I ramble a lot." She said shyly, blushing a bit.
(oop I am late to my own rp! curse dentists!
Darya walked onto the campus, hands in her pockets. She had followed to letter's instructions to a portal and ended up…here. She saw some people in the distance and was going to walk in the other direction, but then remembered she was supposed to be making friends. She walked up to them. "uh, hey. Are all of you new too?" she said.
(I, personally, have a burning hatred for the dentist's office…)
Florence briefly drew blanks in her head as the brown-haired girl began rambling, trying to keep up with what she was saying. "Oh, well, I don't know about the others but I don't even have a schedule so I can't be of much help with that. I've never been here." Once she had finished speaking, a voice sounded from off to her left and she turned her head. With a weary smile, Florence said, "Oh, hi there." Soon after, she sat back down on the ground.
Luciana tossed aside the seven different piles of clothes she'd discarded in her closet as she tried to find the portal. "Why is this stupid thing in my closet anyway? I understand that I'm an amazing mage and my wonderful house is filled my magic but really? A portal? In my closet?" She tossed aside at least 10 different cloaks aside and finally found the portal.
"Of course the portal is located in the corner of my closet which I conveniently leave empty for some reason." Luciana sighed, she dragged her suitcase over and in her other hand she carried her precious succulent plant.
Luciana blankly stared at the portal and the sighed again, "Welp." She walked in with her suitcase and she realized that entering the portal like that was one of the weirdest things to be experienced.
