"It's okay. We just need to think things through more. Take it slow. Make a game plan," Leon said to Sam. He sighed. "I'm not even sure where we're going to begin with. We all need to slow down and listen to what everyone else wants."
"Yeah… we need to be able to defend ourselves, but not lose touch with the real world at the same time," Sam said. "I guess I don't have any powers, so… I'll see if I could find a gun. What about you guys?"
“Wait why would we need a gun?”
“Wait- that’s not a for certain. And guns aren’t easy to get. We need to go through all possible things.”
//do u want me to set up the chances to find ur powers? Cause I have an idea
(I have an idea for Leon, but I just need the opportunity)
Leon cradled his head in his hands. "Forget guns. I'm starving."

//Okay, shoot
I can try to set it up
“Have a protein bar. One of us can head into town later.”
"Oh… thanks." Leon was a little surprised, but very grateful. He thought he may have been on the verge of fainting.
“No problem,” she said, rummagingnthrough her bag. “I’ve got a lot of books… theremwas on on magic somewhere, maybe you can read through for ideas,. Here it is!”
Leon opened the book on his lap.
"Hmmm… alchemy, sigils, necromancy? Shoot, all a real wizard would need is 'abracadabra.'" Leon was joking, but on the word "abracadabra," the book gave off a faint glow. Leon shook his head. "I'm seeing things, right?"
“…no. Find an actual spell and say that.”
Leon turned through the pages. "I have to try something safe. I don't want to hurt anyone. Help me look through this."
Sam shook their head, eyes wide. "Nope, I don't want to get vaporized,"
She scooted next to him and scanned the pages. “Try this,” She said, pointing at an incantation. “It means ‘cast a shield’, more or less.”
Sam shook their head, eyes wide. "Nope,"
“Sam, you’ll definitely have one too. It just depends on what,” she said, eyebrows furrowing. “You can poke through my backpack for ideas.”
(Can Sam find out after they go to their private "drawing spot" [they like to do murals on the rocks] and just draw eyes to help them calm down… and there's fucking eyes blinking all over the place)
"Aegis," Leon muttered. A sheet of blue appeared in front of him from head to toe.
(From here on out, you will see me stealing Latin like nobody's business)
Sam shook their head. "Trust me… I've tried everything I can. There's no way I could have a power. I've tested out everything I've read in books,"
(Eyeeessss.)
Leon put down the book and tried casting again, without any luck. "Eleanor, this is lame. I can only channel magic through books."

//sure tho I was totally about to hand him a sketchbook
“Sam, you’ve clearly got one. Maybe it’s one no one writes about, because everyone here has one. Also, it’s not lame. Just because it only comes while you’re holding a book doesn’t mean you can’t do anything with it,” she said in a rush.
Leon shrugged. "Sure, maybe I can do all sorts of magic, but I will always have to lug around a book."
“Thst’s okay. Enchant a bag or something,” she laughed, leaning back. However, the smile quickly faded. “Oh god, my family is going to be sp worried.”
"All of our families will be," Leon sighed, "I say we find a place to call them, then as soon as we're done, get out of there."
“Yeah. Maggie said she had a brother in Seattle… though that’s kind of far away.”
