"I think it's your turn to ask a question?" Phoenix asked.
"I think it's your turn to ask a question?" Phoenix asked.
"Oh yea, sorry." Azalea mumbled before thinking of her next question. "If you had a choice to know when you would die or how, what would you choose?"
"When," Phoenix responded, "If I knew how then I would avoid doing that activity forever. What about you?"
"Same as you. If I knew when, then I would have time to do everything I wanted before then and know when to say my goodbyes." She answered. "Your turn."
"Hmm, if you could change one thing about your past what would it be?" Phoenix asked her.
"Probably going to school on April 20, second semester first grade and being in the cafeteria at exactly 11:54 a.m" Azalea answered matter-of-factly.
"Okay?" Phoenix said with a slight laugh, "I feel there is a story behind that. Mind sharing?"
Azalea sighed but smiled afterwards before telling her. "Okay, so basically, we were in the school cafeteria, lining up to leave." Azalea said, groaning at the thought. She cringed before continuing. "So basically, this boy in my class was in front of me and I was trying to tell him something but he wouldn't listen. You have to understand though, this was first grade and I was only 6." She cut off her sentence and looked up to the ceiling to finish the story. "I got angry and I didn't know how to take it out… so I pantsed him."
"Oh my God," Phoenix let a short laugh slip out, "That's amazing."
"No it's not. You wanna know why?" She asked, regretting that those words came out her mouth.
Phoenix raised an eyebrow and grinned, "Oh please do tell why."
Azalea groaned one last time before finishing the story. "Right after it, I pleaded him so much not to tell the teacher but it was too late since he already told him. He wrote the first ever and only red face in my agenda. Our parents were always supposed to sign it but I never did so I forgot about it all the way to May, the parent conference meeting. I completely forgot about the incident and my parents were clueless. I gave the teacher a hug because I still did like him. Next thing you know, in the middle of the conference, he tells about the incident."
"Oh dear," Phoenix was still laughing a little, "That is quite a story. I understand why you want to change it though."
"Yes, you can't imagine how mortified I was after that." Azalea said, breathing out now that unknown burden that was on her shoulder was now gone.
"Oh I bet," Phoenix snorted a little, "I'm glad you trusted me enough to tell that much."
"It's fine, it was years ago. Anyways, your turn, what would you do?" Azalea asked.
"Oh I don't know," Phoenix sighed, "Maybe not accept the dare that caused me to get hypothermia and get sick for over a month. It wasn't worth it."
"Wow, now I'm thinking I should've said something else." She chuckled. "If you had three wishes, what would they be?"
"Legs that function," Phoenix said as if that would be her obvious choice, "Being able to heal others, and revenge on anyone who ever made fun of me."
"Damn, pretty straightforward. I would choose to always have the exact amount of money in my pocket when I need it, change my past without messing up my future, and not ever need to hear my arms scrape on any metal or get attracted to the nearest refrigerator."
"Ouch," Phoenix winced at the last one, "But those are some pretty good reasons. Hmmm, If you could be an animal, which animal would you be?"
"That's hard but I would say a dolphin. It would be so easy and you're always swimming not doing anything." She said after some thought.
“And you would be the smartest animal ever,” Phoenix pointed out.
"That's an added bonus. And you?" She said, agreeing to what Phoenix said.
“I would be a cheetah,” Phoenix responded with thoughtfulness, “Then I could outrun all my problems and no one could catch me.”
