Ferran jumped off the counter and to the front door. "Oh hi Thea!" He smiled.
Ferran jumped off the counter and to the front door. "Oh hi Thea!" He smiled.
Thea bit her lip. "Hey Ferran."
"What's wrong?" He asked, his face falling.
"Umm…." Thea walked in. "Sit down."
"Okay." He shut the door and sat next to her on the couch.
"Ferran, um….man, there's no easy way to tell you this…."
"Go ahead. I can take it." He took a deep breath. "You hate me?"
Thea gave a soft, sad laugh. "No, Ferran. I could never hate you. I……..I have brain cancer."
Ferran's face went blank. "What."
Thea looked away from Ferran. She opened her mouth to say something, but couldn't find the words.
Ferran took a deep breath. "Is this a joke? Cus it's not funny Thea."
Thea shook her head. "I wish." She whispered.
Ferran threw his arms around her. "You can't."
Thea leaned into Ferran, burying her face in his shirt. "The doctors made me take several tests. Ferran, I'm scared."
"I am too." He squeaked. "I wish it was me."
Thea took a deep breath, trying to hold back her tears.
Ferran let out a small sob. "Thea…will you make it?"
"I don't know. I don't know…" Thea whispered, hugging Ferran tighter.
"You gotta make it."
Thea nodded. "I'm trying. Ferran I promise I'm trying."
"Are you gonna do Chemo?"
Thea nodded. "It starts tomorrow."
"Okay." He paused. "Do you want me to be there?"
"………That would be nice." Thea answered.
"Okay I'll be there. I'll stay with you as long as you want me to."
