@ShadeStar

This is a fantasy sort of D&D adventure type rp. When I say D&D I mean it's more there a traveling group with a goal then someone's a dm doing all that.

We start in the capital of the kingdom of Spirits, Flaren, where a large gala is about to be held. The King and Queen of every province along with royalty from other kingdoms have come bringing higher rates of trade and celebration. Why are they holding a gala you might ask? In honor of Princess Tamara, heir to the throne of Spirit and next ruler of the province of man, twenty-first birthday of course. But something lurks in the shadows that no one saw coming, well almost no one…

~LORE~

In the beginning there were four spirits, Water, Fire, Air, and Life. They roamed the universe simply enjoying the beauty that it was. One day the four spirits came across a small orb, something that could be built upon. Fire immediately swaddled the orb within them. Once released Water rained down upon the fiery orb, making it larger, while Air surrounded the new orb, now deemed a planet, with their gift. This allowed Life to spread across the planet and the 4 spirits were happy with what they created.

The peace did not last long though. For each spirit wanted to keep creating. Water flooded the lower areas of the planet and attempted to take the higher ground too. Air used the large amounts of water that Water created to make dangerous storms that tore up the surface. Life continued creating so much that soon there weren't enough resources to sustain what he had created. While Fire destroyed everything it touched and refused to stop. One by one each spirit realized what they had done wrong and all agreed to come together for a solution to this ever growing problem.

They agreed to make a guardian of their respective realms. Life created the original shell for this guardian, a humanoid pale clay body, and gave each spirit one. Life, despite creating the base, gave the creature longer limbs, dark earthy skin, and points on its ears. Life called them elves. Water took the two legs on the creature and merged them together, forming a single limb. At the end Water had the feet fan out, they also gave the creature gills to breathe under his element. Water called them mer. Air created wings, tails, ears, and anything else one could imagine; and placed them on the back of the creature, they made their skin a lighter more air like tone. Air called them fae. Fire liked the creature the way it was, their touch burned the skin to a brick colored tone. Fire called it man. Each spirit created more of their guardians till the land was filled with them.

Years passed and the spirits grew weaker and weaker. Eventually they decided their guidance was no longer needed in the world and turned into a smaller form of what once their original glory. Fire turned into a small flame and made their home in a tree in the center of the human castle. The humans saw it and watched as it never burned out and called it the Everflame. Water turned into a pearl and sank to the deep ocean. The mer found it and called it the Seapearl, making it their most precious of treasures. Life placed itself on a small island in the center of the elven lands, creating a small tree. When the elves came near it they noticed their lives seemed to lengthen, calling it the Lifetree. Lastly Air became a whirlwind of colors flying through the largest room in the fae palace. The fae noticed it’s turbulence and called it the Stormwind. Thus the Kingdom of the Four Spirits was born.

~HISTORY~
WARNING: Not graphic, but has mentions of war, mass genocide, and racism, along with implication of mass rape

One day the spirits returned from their slumber for no apparent reason, but barring the same message to all who would listen, take the fire in man’s soul. At first some of the chosen few saw it as a declaration of war, and the races fought for man’s fire. Others understood the message and bought man as slaves to save their people. The rare one or two understood the message and requested that some men breed with them so that they could preserve their race. The others went on, slaying town after town, stealing men women, and children, until finally Fire put a stop to it. What was known as the first genocide. The vengeful spirit killed every fae, elf, and mer that had misinterpreted the message. Very few remained and slowly repopulated their forces. Man was saved, as Fire declared the queen of man queen of the kingdom saying that all others must bow beneath her due to their actions. Slowly every knee fell, but a new problem had arisen.

Within the races which used to all share the same skin, new colors had become clear. It was from the mass breeding with the brick toned man. Elves had lighter skin, more red than brown. Fae’s who had prided their multitude of wings, had more land walkers than flyers. Mer now had more people than ever that prefered to stay on land. These ‘creatures’, as the others called them, were pushed out and treated as slaves often to cary on the flame as they held that within them. They were treated horribly and it was man who now stood up and fought for their rights. In the end no one could truly free them from their oppression, so instead they dedicated part of the mainland to each species. The lighter elves went west to the desert and became known as the kingdom of Fadul. Advancing in technology faster than anyone else, because they needed that rate to survive. The ground laden Fae traveled east to the rich land and became the kingdom of Horoki. The richness of their land allowed them to have an excess of supplies creating many artisans and most trade comes from Horoki. They’ve never needed to destroy the land in order to have the excess. The mer who preferred to stand than swim were forced to the islands south of the mainland becoming the kingdom of Perdamaian. They preferred to live a much more peaceful life than the others staying within their island shores.

All was thought to be well on the land, but the problem was growing. A family who had been around for a long time laid claim to the throne. Claiming they held the right to the spirits, they didn’t. The family gained a following, and began a rebellion against the king. Luckily Flare sensed their movements, and ill intentions warning the king about the attackers. The battle warred for many days before the king came out victorious banishing the family and their followers to the mountain north. The family founded the kingdom of Heilig and over the years continued their assault to gain the spirits. Even though they were separated, the family still had many followers within the kingdom. Together they formed the cult of Northern Winds.

Province's are marked with the thin lines within Spirit. Elf has the tree, Man has the flame, Mer has the circle/pearl-thing, Fae has the spiral. Each province has it's own king and queen that rule over that area of land. The ruler of man, currently King Xavier, rules over the entire kingdom because of the reasons mentioned in the history section.

~CHARACTERS~

You must choose one of these and stick with them, but other characters can be brought in and out.

  • Elf- @Trix
  • Mer- @Ladybug_Fly_Away_Home
  • Fae- @Emmylove-Loves-Summer
  • Man- @ShadeStar

Other characters:

~RULES~

In this universe, hair color signifies magic power. The more of the hair color you have, the stronger you are. That also means dyes do not exist, unless your some type of conman.

  • Blond/Brown is no magic
  • Red is Fire
  • Blue is Water
  • Green is Life
  • Black is Darkness
  • Washed Out is Air
  • White is Ice
  • Purple is Storm
  • Pink is Love
  • Seers have a simple circle on their wrist (They see the future and such in visions that they do not control.)
  • If you want a different magic type (preferably elemental) you can ask me if it’s okay, and create a hair color for it. However we do need a color remaining to ensure those who chose not to have powers can not have to worry about being mistaken for a different magic type.

These are the races to choose from. Of course you have the one character of your choice, but as said earlier you can make other characters to bring in and out of the story.

  • Man: There basically humans, but typically have a more burnt clay/brick like skin tones. I really don't know how else to describe it. Any humans that are "white" often hail from the northern kingdom of Heilig.
  • Elves: Typical fantasy elves. Pointy ears, taller than everyone else, long lives (millennium at least), great at bows (but that's a stereotype.) The difference is these elves have a lot darker skin tones and any elf with a lighter color get discriminated against. These lighter colored elves will have shorter lives than a typical elves and be shorter and have smaller ears as well. Most lighter elves live in the kingdom of Fadul to the west.
  • Fae: A pure-blooded fae will have extremely fair skin and wings of any sort and also tend to live a couple centuries. Other fae with darker toned skin, but is often still lighter than that of man, gets the discrimination stamp. This also applies to fae that are stuck to the ground, so if you have a tail and ears yeah it's not good. Again these fae that were discriminated also have shorter lives and most live in the kingdom of Horoki to the East.
  • Mer: Mer have paler skin, not as pale as fae though. In the water there legs merge into one single tail of an oceanic creature. Freshwater is a no go for these saltwater creatures. They can move between water and land with ease, so don't worry about being water locked. The race often lives up to a century. Again, darker skinned mer get the discrimination stamp. These mer prefer to live on land and often now live in the southern island kingdom of Perdamaian.

Other rules

  • Swearing is okay just not in excessive amounts. Only exception to the rule is thoughts or moments of panic, then yes. Go ahead and swear all you want.
  • Please please please make diverse characters this includes genders, sexuality, skin color, body types, races, and personalities. If we end up with a bunch of straight females (what happened last time I made an rp based off of this series) then I will request some one to change either gender or sexuality.
  • Please try to make original characters. No fan characters, mary sues, or gary sues.
  • PG-13 with the love. Kissing fine, more excessive stuff no. Also shipping is okay. Just make sure both people are okay with it.
  • Other acts of violence is cool though. Minus rape, that goes in the love bit.
  • Ask to join.
  • I have the right to say no to you.
  • If I haven't rped with you before, please paste a sample paragraph of your rp/writing style.
  • I would prefer more detailed or experienced rpers than others. Limit the amount of one liners if possible. I get that you can have a bad day or be running low on creative juices, and that's okay.
  • This is based off of a book I am writing, so I may be a tad pickier with characters. If I ask you to change something, please don't freak. I'm just trying to make sure the character fits into the world.
  • Speaking of world, this is medieval times. So no guns or cyborgs or phones or computers or anything of that types. Electricity isn't a thing either. Only exception is if your character is some type of inventor than a basic prototype is okay.
  • Another worry since it's a book being written. I am not going to steal your character and insert them into my book as a main character. I have my cast set in stone, minor character's and all.
  • You must choose one of the four characters at the beginning, but you can have other characters. There are no limits or rules for these other characters; however, please put more focus onto the chosen of the four rather than your other character.
  • Also don't be afraid to ask questions! I tried to explain everything, but I get I might have missed some items.

@lavender_ladybug group

Absolutely!

Thomas’ breath billowed around him as he trudged through the snow in an Alaskan winter. Siberia, Thomas’ Northern Inuit dog trailed behind him with relative ease through the snow, seeming not to mind the cold as much as his frigid owner.
Thomas looked over to his companion, his face flushed red from the cold, and his lips threatening blue, “Almost back to camp, Sib.” He paused to catch his breath and sat down in the snow, pulling out a notebook from his bag. He flipped through the pages to his latest notes and used a gloved finger to read over the research. He’d written about the plants that survived, even thrived in winter. It was all so intriguing, and interesting enough to keep him distracted from the shivering and the fatigue.
Thomas swiped his tongue over his chapped lips. With the help of his dog, he pushed himself up out of the snow to continue walking.
The falling snow gradually began swirling around him, “Shit..” he cursed, identifying the storm. He’d have to find his camp sooner rather than later.
He walked faster as the snow began to cloud his vision, and he reached over to grab Siberia’s collar. The very last thing he wanted to happen was to lose his beloved dog in a stupid snow storm. He took longer and longer paces to go as fast as he could.
The next step he took collapsed beneath him. He heard a crack, and an explosion of pain shivered from his leg up into his ears. Gravity pulled him down the rugged hill, down to just outside of his camp. But Thomas wouldn’t know that as his world slowly faded into darkness .

@ShadeStar

Clothing: A deep red cloak with a gold flame-like trimming with a large hood that can cover her entire face making it obscure to anyone who tries to look at her, a brown tunic and gray trousers along with brown boots. She has a dagger on her belt and a staff with gold flame capped edges on her back.
Personality: Hot headed, a lot smarter than she appears, secretive, and I suck at describing the personality of my characters.. What else is new?
Preferred Weapon: Staff
Province of Origin: Man
Kingdom of Origin: Spirit
Family?: Nada
Occupation: Merchant? Of stolen goods? So a thief
Backstory: ;)
Other: Is that one person who sees the thing coming. Because plot.

@Simon-Says

(Sorry if I'm being annoying, but the other characters don't have magic, right? Also, how old should my character be?)

@ShadeStar

(Human sized. Everything is human sized. Also please ask away. I'm using this as a launching pad to get back into the story and world. Writer's block hitting me bad.)

@Simon-Says

(Oof I feel you sis I lose interest in my stories within like a month usually and then I just never get around to finishing them EVEN WHEN I HAVE THE WHOLE PLOT WRITTEN OUT. Yeah, I'm… not the best author in the world.)

@Simon-Says

Name: Aureole Cirrus
Age: 17
Gender and Pronouns: Female She/Her
Sexuality: Pancake Pansexual
Race: Fae
Magic: MMNOPE
Appearance: Very light blonde, curly hair cut at her chin, a spray of tiny freckles right across the middle of her face, really bright blue eyes that are just always sparkling, whether with happiness, mischief, or tears. She has really long eyelashes that always get tangled, so she gets this kind of oddly windswept look. Her skin is just. So pale. She looks like the moon birthed her and then died because its child was more pale than it was. It's some kind of miracle that you can't see her veins. She looks ridiculously tiny, like a strong enough breeze would sweep her away, but she's actually fairly strong. She's literally like 5'1'' or around there. But she's also tiny in every other way, so she looks smaller. She has wings on her back that look like dragonfly wings. So yeah.
Clothing: Blue hooded cloak (though she doesn't use the hood unless it's necessary), ankle length light blue dress that she's rigged so that she can hike it up to her waist, short black shorts that go underneath her dress, and steel-tipped combat boots. Because she needs them.
Personality: Pretty freakin chill. She just thinks that everyone should be able to do whatever they want. Unless they're wrong. Then she has to kill them. She's really quick to make friends but quicker to make enemies, and she's oddly observant. Also a really good listener, when she doesn't want to kill you.
Preferred Weapon: Bow and arrows
Province of Origin: Fae?
Kingdom of Origin: Spirit
Family: Mother, Zaera Cirrus, older sister, Maora Cirrus, and little brother, Kyron Cirrus.
Occupation: Sort of a tutor? She helps young fae who want to know more about history and the like. She's also sort of a stand-in therapist, so people pay her some money and she just listens to them. Yeah, it doesn't have great pay, but her mom's got a decent job, so… eh.
Backstory: Ehehe it's a secret whichreallymeansthatI'mtoolazytocomeupwithabackstorybutImeanherdaddiedatsomepointprobablyinafirewhichiswhyshekindofhatesmanbecauseofthewholefirething.
Other: Mnope.
(Does this work? I can totally change it if not!)
