Audrey woke up, feeling no different than she had the previous day. Today was her eighteenth birthday, which supposedly was the day she would get her last clue to who her soulmate was. Sure enough, the tattoo on her arm had a few seemingly random words on it.
She had moved not too long ago, since her family had heard of the new, impossible development about the soul mate situation. Audrey was a bit nervous since she didn’t know a ton of people at her new school yet. She got ready for the day, her mind racing with possibilities. In what felt like no time at all she was at school, her eyes scanning the hallways hoping to hear the words written on her arm (hidden under a flannel).
Keri sighed and finished typing her paper that was due that morning and printed it off. Checking the time on her watch, she grabbed her jacket and started walking to school. When she got there, she looked at the words on her arm one last time and put her jacket on thinking about how few months she had left to find her soulmate.
Juniper woke up that morning, groaning as she turned over to her alarm clock. She clicked it off, slowly sitting up in her bed and rubbing her eyes. Showering and dressing in a pair of skinny jeans and a sky blue hoodie, she brushed her hair back into a ponytail, slowly sauntering around her apartment in attempt to ready for school. Soon enough she was skipping the halls of the school, her wet curls already drying in frizzy puffs.
Smiling at people as she passed them, she gripped onto her bag hanging over her shoulder, letting her mind wander.
She couldn't help but think back to the words that appeared on her arm only a few months ago.
Kristofer nearly falls off his little ledge he was sleeping on. He groaned and looked around, he realized morning had risen and he cursed. He should have been up sooner, but he had no alarm clock since he lived at the orphanage.
His jeans were torn, hair a ragged mess, red shirt peppered with holes, and a pristine black fur jacket he found in a dumpster, he had washed it in the river out of town but he was ok with it.
annoyed he tucked his sleeves to hide the words on his wrists. He was sick of those words, to the point he had nearly cut the skin off around it.
He then began to wonder the streets again.
Keri walked through the halls and listened to conversations that were going on all around her, finally getting to her class and turning her paper in. Now that that was done she didn't know what to do, Keri decided on going to the school library for the few minutes that she had left before classes started.
Curious and excited, Audrey found her way to the school library. She loved books, and somehow it seemed like a possibility of meeting her soulmate could happen? The thought made her nervous. She smiled at a girl who was already there, intent on at least making a new friend if nothing else.
“Hi,” she chirped, walking over to the girl. “I’m Audrey.”
Keri looked at a chipper girl that was introducing herself and said "Hi Audry, im Keri." Keri stuck her hand out for Audry to shake, determined not to think about her tattoo and what its words said.
Wait I thought her name was Keri?//
Audrey shook it. “Nice to meet you,” she replied with another smile.
facepalms yas it was i was just in a diff rp and i accidentally used her name i'll update it quick sry
Keri smiled at Audrey and said "nice to meet you too." she looked at the clock quick and saw that they had a few minutes to talk before classes started.
“So are you eighteen yet?” Audrey asked. It would be an odd question if the subject of soulmates wasn’t so frequently on every teenager’s mind. “I just turned eighteen,” she added tentatively, rolling up her flannel to reveal the edge of her tattoo before fixing it again.
Kristofer eventually found his way to the school. He groaned then walked straight into the building and straight to class. passing the library in the process.
James flipped his hoodie over his head as he walked into the school grounds. His back ached no more then usual and you'd think he;d be used to the pain by now but he wasn't. He pulled his sleeves on his jacket down, only the top of his tattoo peaking up over the edge.
He sighed and walked into his class, making his way to the back and taking a seat by the window. His teacher told him to remove his hood, revealing his mess of black hair and he ran a hand through it to tame it a little.
"yup, i turned 18 a few months ago…still no soulmate though…." Keri rolled her sleeve up and showed the edges of her tattoo before rolling it back down. at that moment the bell rung for classed to start "shoot! i have to get to class Audrey, it was nice to talking to you, see you later!" Keri said quickly trying not to be rude and to get to class on time.
Kristofer eventually found his classroom. Settling down in the seat closest to the door.
He was already tired of being here, he didn't even see why.
James took out his phone and headphones and put them on, finding the right playlist he wanted before zoning out. He'd probably get told off but he didn't care.
Kristofer attempted to fall asleep but was just absolutely out of it. Felt like he was zoning out instead of trying to do anything productive. Pff. Go figure, another day and my brain is already in another world.
Juniper shook her head from her thoughts, changing her direction to towards her classroom. She still walked with a little bounce in her step, a smile on her lips as she entered the room, taking her seat in the front.
Gaby was sitting at her desk, trying to ignore the texts coming through her phone from her younger siblings. Half the time it felt like the only place she could relax was at school.
Audrey understood. “Okay, see you later!” She replied with a smile, also hurrying to get to class. She walked into the room with a smile still on her face, searching for a seat. She didn’t remember exactly where she was supposed to sit.
Kris proceeds to fall asleep in class. again.
Keri stumbled into class and took the first empty seat she saw, which was surprisingly right by the door. She dropped her backpack on the floor by her desk and proceeded to read her book from the library for the whole class period.
