Matt stumbled and cursed, shaking his zip-tied hands against the cement wall. “Why the actual f#ck are you doing this?” He glared at ‘John’.
(David wouldn't hold a gun with bullets against kids, I get it if the character you're developing can make bullets, but I'm developing mine too, be fair okay? @Time_And_Reletive_Dimension_In_Space and sure @LeafyLemur )
David didn't feel the hits too harshly, more surprised than hurt, however, when he was kicked, his wallet accidentally fell onto the floor. An old bus pass showed his name, "David Oliver Wilson" and a small picture of his family, Wife Ashanti, baby boy Natori, 12-year-old daughter Hiari and 18-year-old daughter Mia. David quickly dropped to the floor, scooping up his wallet and stuffing it into his pocket, hoping that Matt didn't see it.
Shazi moved a little closer to Robin, "Hey," She whispered, "Follow me. Slowly. Okay?" She quietly moved across the wall behind Cecilia and David, opposite Oswin. This was their chance to get away, to call for help.
“You’re name is actually David?” Matt asked, incredulous. “Seriously?” He was trying to give the other kids time to run out without this guy noticing.

"I wouldn't do this if I had any better choices. I won't kill you kids. I swear it on my soul. But this short time of fear will save my family." David slowly stood up, taking a few steps back from Matt, "Anahi! Stay upstairs!" He yelled, trying to think of a plan as he noticed Robin and Shazi slowly moving to the stairs.
"I know, I know," Anahi yelled down the steps, "I've got them." she twirled her knife and stood in the doorway, making sure to wear a mask. David might be unwilling to hurt the children, but Anashi wasn't.
“Hey, David? I don’t like being used as bait. Or being used at all.”
Robin froze. Knife… retreat, retreat! He stumbled backwards, his heart pounding. (Should she attack Robin?)
Shazi stared at the girl at the top of the stairs, her eyes mainly fixed on the knife. Her heart was beating so fast it hurt, each breath fighting the next as she hesitantly took a step up.
"Anahi! Don't hurt them okay? We need to keep them down and get us up so we can think this out." He said, partly to Anahi, partly to the kids.
"Matt, you're not bait." He held his hand in a stop like motion to Matt, "We're just holding on to you guys out here for a few days, we get sent money for you to be freed, then everything goes back to normal for you guys."
"Don't worry, I won't," she paused, "Maybe," Anashi smirked. She wouldn't hurt them if they didn't come any closer, so she kept an eye on them, daring them to keep going up the stairs.
What should we do? Robin glanced over at Shazi before cautiously stepping forward. He said not to hurt us… so she won't, right…?
"I don't want to die, but my mum's told me about people on the news. Kids that get taken and never come back, or they do in pieces. I don't want to be trapped down there, I don't want to die down there. My teacher, Mr Cougher. He once said something…" Shazi took another step, "I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees."
David rubbed his eyes for a moment, "Everybody, just calm down! You are in more danger running around out there then you are for a few days down here. Shit if you calm down you can go upstairs."
Asashi watched as they approached the top of the stairs cautiously. She readied her knife and raised an eyebrow, "You kids seem brave, but there's a fine line between brave and idiotic, you're both about to step across that line," she warned, "And are you stupid, David? We're not letting them up here!"
Robin stepped closer to Shazi. She wouldn't… He's lying? Lies… lies, lies, lies! Should I? He hesitated, moving to the banister and up a bit more, shying away from the girl with the knife.
"Just-just bare with me here Anashi!" He yelled, noticing the point of the knife ghosting through the doorway to the basement. "Take them two upstairs. Tie them to chairs and keep them there. "Cecilia, stay if you want, but I'm going up too. Matt. I know you're scared and you are being so brave right now. Look after the others. I know you don't trust me, but I trust you." David quickly moved to the bottom of the staircase.
Shazi's eyes darted between Anashi and David. "I really don't like you guys." She muttered, scared as hell but trying to show none of it.
"You asked for it," Anashi shrugged and grabbed two of her throwing knives from her belt, aiming inches away from the two children's faces. They whizzed past them, just barely grazing the boy's cheek.
"Crap, too late, David!" Anashi yelled back.
"Anashi! Just grab Robin. I'll take Shazi." David ordered, looking down to the other children, "I promise I won't kill any of you, but my friend here is out of my control. Do anything stupid, and I won't be able to keep these two safe." He stared at Anashi. "Come on."
Shazi flinched heavily at the knives, screaming as they flew by, quickly stopping herself from making any more noise.
He yelped and stepped back, putting a hand to his now bleeding cheek.
"Fine," she rolled her eyes and sheathed her knives. Anashi grabbed the small boy, slinging him over her shoulder, "We're probably gonna pay for this, you know that, right? You're too soft."
"Maybe. But killing the kids that will help you get money isn't the best plan either." He snapped, holding the girl's shoulder and pushing her forward a little.
"Robin! Are you okay? Matt!" Shazi yelled, trying to stay calm while moving forward.
