Aeron stepped onto shore, not showing any sign of fear. He had heard about this place from his mother, but he thought it was just a story to keep him in line. Well, the stories were true and here he was.

Zoe took a deep breath as she stepped off onto the shores of the infamous island. Check your facts people Here she was, about to die. She probably deserved it.
(Yay!)
River shakily stepped onto the sand. He was glad to get on steady ground. He looked onto the island, knowing fully what awaited him here. It's going to be fine, it's going to be fine, he tried to reassure himself. He looked at the other passengers. Did they hold as much blood on their hands as he?
Aeron folded his arms across his chest as they were led to a dark passage way, what looked to be a train pulling into a station just up ahead. Faint screams sounded down the tunnel and as there was barely any light, it made everything ten times scarier.
River shuddered at the thought of going into to darkness, as if he could somehow delay the inevitable, and the screams. The screams that sounded so familiar to his clients. A flash red memory attacked him, but he forcibly shook it away. River whispered, more to himself than anyone else, "Please…”
Aeron heard a guy behind him talk quietly, “You alright mate?” He asked, a bit concerned. It wouldnt hurt to be nice once in a while.
River was kind of startled when he realized the question was addressed to him. He tried to put on his best smile for the stranger as he replied, "No, I don't quite think so," He recalled what got him to the Island in the first place. He tried to disregard what he'd done, but that was his curse. That side of him.
River looked at the stranger again, "Hi, my name is River."
“I’m Aeron, pleased to meet you.” He smiled a little, “Shame we are meeting in such unfortunate circumstances.” He said sighing.
River sighed along, "Yes, but at least we get to be spun up into a fairytale while we're at it. I mean, I'd only heard of the Island of Nightmares from my mother as a scary story," River made a small smile at the thought of his mother, if only she could see him now. She'd be petrified. He probably would be too if he was in her position.
“Same, She always told it to me when I was misbehaving, I thought it was a joke but clearly not…” He took a deep breath and was pushed into the train and into a seat, “Hey! Watch it.”
Jezebel winced as she was pushed in a seat, pulling her knees to her chest. Fuck.
River nearly jumped as he was shoved into the seat as well. He saw that his hands started to shake. River balled them into fists. It was going to be okay He thought, desperately trying to hold on to that rational side of him, yet he couldn't help but feel like his hands were dipped into a particular red liquid. He wiped them furiously on his pants, despite his hands being clean.
Aeron was placed next to a girl on one side and River in the other. He glanced at the girl who looked like she was ready to jump of the train at any moment, “Hey, it’s gonna be okay.”
"Hey, I'm not your thing!" Zoe snarled as she was pushed in.

"It's not going to be-" The irrational side of River started to shout, but the rational side cut himself off by biting hard on his tongue and he apologized shyly, "I-I'm sorry. Sorry."
“It’s alright, you have every right to feel like this as most…” He stopped himself, “Just, try not to think about it.. which is hard but it might help…”
River wrung his hands and nodded. He just needed to breathe. In. Out. In. Out- River nearly choked at a smell that hit him. A metallic scent. The same scent that covered his office before he was shipped here.
Zoe looked up towards the ceiling and closed her eyes. Calm down, calm down, its not real. You're not going to die, you….
MURDERER!
You killed her.
I thought you were her friend.
Traitor!
She immediately regreted it as her eyes snapped open. Zoe started to silently hyperventailte, her confidence now gone.
River looked around at the others, "C-Can you smell it too?" He was starting to sweat, "O-Or is that just m-me?”
Aeron sniffed, “Kind of…” He said quietly, “It’s not just you, don’t worry.”
She hid the bottom half of her face behind her knees, trying her best to look casual. "Guys, please." Although she wasn't sure who she was talking to. She wasn't even sure if she was asking them to stay alive or not hate her
River looked at the shadows and tried to just breathe. Not think. He would not think about the smell, he would not think about the upcoming nightmares, he would not think- River jumped at a distant scream, then tried to chuckle it off as he remarked, “I don’t think I’ll last long.”
“Who knows…this place is strange.” Aeron said, looking out the side of the train and into nothing.
“I wonder if anyone’s tried to escape before,” River whispered as if the mere thought of escape was outlawed.
“Apparently people have tried but never succeeded.”
