Her eyes shifted to him as he almost collapsed and she frowned. She took a bottle of silver pills from her bag, paying no mind of the dosage of 2 pills only. She poured out a small handful, swallowing them with her coffee. She looked up at the other man. “I don’t know what you mean.”
Odette had not noticed the interaction, nor had she noticed the cat due to the fact that her muffin had arrived and stolen her attention. You see, sweet things were the girl's weakness - she simply couldn't resist them and distracted her completely. The muffin didn't last long and as Odette folded the wrapper onto the small plate she heard a loud thump. Now that she wasn't distracted, Odette gave out a loud gasp of shock.
"Manete, is a spell, correct?" Bennet inquired. "Are you or are you not a magic user?" He could probably just read her mind, but he didn't come to Earth to solve everything with his powers.
Maroon gasped as his pulse started throbbing and life was reintroduced to his system. He put a hand on the table to steady himself, and slowly stood up, his headphones drowning out the noise in the back. Feeling the steady beat, Maroon started to breathe normally and he put his black glasses back on after they'd fallen. He needed to get back to his lab, to start testing his prototype. Otherwise, he wouldn't have much too long to live.
Her mouth opened in disbelief and she quietly murmured, “How do you know that?” She stood to face him hesitantly.
"You said 'manete', as I remember it, that's a spell in this universe."
“Most people don’t know basic magic.. Who are you?” Lucy further questioned.
(Leaving for the night, will be around later.)
Odette got up from her seat, immediately beginning to worry - was the older boy alright? Could she possibly have something in her bag to help him? She walked promptly over to him, her hand digging into her bag in hopes of finding something of use at the same time, "S'cuse me, but, are you going to be alright? I saw you fall and I know that I'm a stranger but I do this thing where I worry a lot and if you need help I'd be glad to - it'd put my mind at ease and I… Oh goodness, I'm rambling again aren't I…" she said, her voice quickening as she continued to speak.
"I've been around." He says. "Magic is multiversal, trust me. I could show you if you like."
"I-I'm f-fine. Th-thanks." Maroon choked out, his eyes desperately searching for a bottle of water. "I'll…I'll be alright."
Bennett read the kid's mind slightly, he snapped his fingers, a bottle of water transmuted out of thin air. He didn't like using his powers, but if he must, well… Oh well
Maroon spotted the water appear in the purple-eyed mans hand. Envious, he steadied himself using the younger, curly-afro-hair girl's hand and started to drag himself to the counter.
"Here you go." He said, tossing it to the young one with the glasses.
Odette's eyes widened, she had just begun to pull out a water bottle from her bag but another guy was already about 10 steps ahead of her.
Maroon opened the cap of the bottle and gulped the water down. He could feel his system going back to normal. He mumbled a thanks to the afro girl and smiled at her.
"No problem, do you want me to go hail a cab or something for you or…?" Odette replied
"And speaking of magic…" Bennett said. "Is that a magic satchel?"
"Um. No?" Odette turned to the man, her voice rising in pitch
"Suit yourself." Bennett said, as he walked to the bathroom.
Maroon waved her off, "It's okay. Thanks for the help. I'll ride the sonic transporter."
Odette sighed in relief, how on earth had that man guessed such a thing she didn't know, but she was certainly going to be more careful about using it in public - such things were difficult to get one's hands on.
She turned to the slightly older boy, who had made his way to the counter, "O-okay…" she replied, "Wait… the what transporter?"
Maroon looked at her, "The…" he realized his mistake, "Bus. Right, the bus."
(anyone wanna delay Maroon?)
