Bob smiled, turning back to Lucas. “Well, Shall we schedule that appointment? Let’s go check with your mom.”

Kaly flopped onto her bed and pulled out her phone.
Evaline sighed, hearing the conversation from upstairs. She'd check in on Kaly in a little bit.
Kaly clicked on her messaging app. The newest unread message made her smile. She pressed the contact.
"Uh… sure." Lucas said after watching Kaly go. I hope she doesn't hate me now because I pointed that out… He always hated being on the wrong side of Kaly.
Kaly tipped a response happily and hit send. She turned her phone off momentarily to lift up her backpack with her powers and bring out over to her bed.
“Did we decide on tomorrow or tonight?” Bob thought aloud. “Hey, honey! Is it better for a tech guy to come today or tomorrow?”
Kaly heard her father yelling again. "Why can't ANYBODY in the house speak normally?" she muttered.
"I thought we decided on tonight?" Lucas yawned, following his father down the stairs slowly so as to not trip.
“I feel like that’s too late… honey?” Bob called again.
It can wait until tomorrow. Evaline transmitted to him.
“Got it!” Bob answered aloud. “Thanks! Nine thirty AM okay?”
"Are you guys doing the… thing… again? The mind thingy." Lucas said with a slight slur evident in his tired voice. He glanced over at the table where his unfinished homework sat.
Kaly laughed to herself, reading the response.

Bob nodded. “Yes. I think that that homework can wait until tomorrow. Let’s go upstairs,” Bob said, gently placing a hand on his son’s back and leading him up.
"Yeah… it's like, Saturday or something anyways so whatever." Lucas allowed his father to lead him up the stairs.
“Exactly,” Bob agreed. “Plenty of time.”
(…Or Tuesday…)
"Night mom." Lucas called down the stairs. "Goodnight Kaly! Hope whatever happened… resolves, or something." He shrugged.
Kaly looked up. "Goodnight? What time is it?"
"I dunno, lateish? Why?"
Kaly checked the time on her phone. (What time should it be?)
(I'd say between nine and ten maybe?)
(Okie!)
Kaly's jaw dropped. At the same instant, her phone chimed loudly. No, it rang. "Lucas, get out!" Kaly exclaimed, digging for her ear buds.
Bob looked up the stairs. “Kaly, get ready for bed! Lucas, you too!”
