Michael tried to open the cage then ended up picking the lock with one of the dead guard's knives. "Come princess we have to go"

Kira hobbled forward, still slightly shocked at the sight of him. Not having walked in a while, (how long were they out?) she was a little wobbly, leaning on the wall for support.

"Hurry" Michael spurted out "the others are escaping, you have to go with them" he starts leading her through the halls stumbling with every step; he can barely see whats in front of him.

(but Michael was never hurt. at most he's just exhausted.)

( his dominant arm has been nearly cut through by the knight he broke his sword on; even without the continuous blood loss there; he has sustained many unspecified injuries from fighting so many knights with close to nothing protecting his skin. While he will most likely survive because plot [And I like him too much to let him die] it is very possible he could pass out from the pain or merely bleed out from all the movement)

(well, just know that there is no way Kira is helping him once he passes out because he's covered in blood and that's disgusting)

Kira could see (rather clearly) that Michael was struggling with every step. He looked like a worm. Covered in blood, struggling to move forward. Kira hated worms. They were disgusting.

It took them a while to reach the exit. "Ariene!" Michael shouted "get the princess to safety, please!" he nearly collapsed but held himself up. "you need to get to the palace" he told Kira "you should be safe there"

Kira was about to run to Ariene, but quickly noticed the golden armored men. "Ariene!" Kira couldn't go any farther without being captured again. She inched back towards Michael, still struggling to keep on his feet.

Michael cursed silently and scanned the ground for anything he could use as a weapon. "ill try to distract them" he burst into a run but collapsed after four steps

"Oh my god." Kira sighed disappointingly. Yup. They were doomed. Light bulb moment!

Helping Michael up, Kira used herself to support him, running as fast as she could, covering as much of herself as she could, they slowly, but surely, made their way to Ariene, who was fighting off as many soldiers as she could. Surprisingly, neither Michael nor Kira was hit. Wow. But Kira could hear Michael gasping (in pain or for breath, or maybe both, which was most probable).

Ariene saw the knights in golden armor running towards her and quickly grabbed the sword of the man she was interrogating. It was a huge struggle because it was extremely heavy. She lifted it up, and got into what she assumed was a 'sword fighting stance'. She was completely off. Her stance was too high from the ground and she had her legs too close together. She had never used a sword before since she had always hated directly hurting people. Long distance fighting was always her forte, but she didn't have her bow with her, so she had no choice but to go along with what she had. She swung the blade directly at five of the guards closest to her. One by one they were knocked out and laying on the floor. She doubted that they were dead since this was her first time wielding such a weapon, but it was good enough to have some leeway to make sure everyone still here could escape. She continued to mindlessly swing the sword everywhere, hitting lots of the guards in the prosses. With every swing, she would be thrown back a bit, and almost fall, but she had managed to keep for balance for the most part. The weight of the sword was constantly pulling down on her, and her movements were the complete opposite of graceful, but she didn't care. She soon noticed Michael and Kira coming up to her. She tried her best to stay concentrated on the enemy while not accidentally hurting either of them, which she surprisingly was successful at. Now, she was a tiny bit embarrassed, knowing that Michael was really good with swords, and she was absolute trash, but she kept in mind it was her first time, and that he most likely didn't care at all. She put her self-consciousness to the side and continued to swing her sword at the guards until there were none left standing. (She isn't into Michael, she's just embarrassed that she's so bad with swords).
