"Training. I don't know if you'd heard, but I'm pretty infamous for winning a bunch of competitions already. I happen to excel at gymnastics, but I am a contender for the motorcycle race that comes after." even when this plan hadn't erupted, Marya had still known Asja Dragomirov. Sister to Felix Dragomirov, who had already won the Axis Victory Festival before.
( Ayee Felix )
Marlo nodded slowly, listening to what the girl said. She wasn't too fazed though. She had seen plenty of people who were just as capable as Asja in past competitions. "Isn't your brother. . . Felix?" Marlo asked after a long pause, a curious look in her hazel eyes.
"Yes, yes he is. Twin brother, in fact. We're close." Marya smiled, trying to look like Felix meant so much to her.
Marlo nodded and paused, wondering what she should ask the girl. Nothing too personal, or Asja probably wouldn't answer. "Are you nervous?"
"Sort of. I've been training my whole life!" happiness was exhausting.
"How did you learn to become a gymnast?" Marlo asked, glad that the conversation was focused on Asja. She didn't need people asking her about her past.
"I always was!" oh god, why did this girl ask so many questions?
Marlo nodded and realized that she didn't have any more questions to ask. "What's in the arena?"
"It changes every year. Last year wasn't even a tournament! Felix told me it was more like a death match/race. If you went unconscious, you were out and everyone raced to get to their motorcycles first." Marya pretended to be happy. It was getting exhausting.
Benjamin tried his best to sleep, but it was quite obvious that he wouldn't be able to. It wasn't just because of his seat and worry. The muscular and more intimidating boys around him were extremely loud, and they didn't even look remotely tired. They all seemed to be practicing a skill that they excelled at, weather it be physical strength or knife throwing. An idea popped into Benjamin's head. He scooted back to the corner of his bed so he was mostly concealed by the shadows. As quietly as he could, he took out his pencil and notebook from his boot and began writing descriptions of the boys, as well as whatever skill they were practicing. That's the one way I can beat these boys… hopefully…
Marlo nodded and looked around, noticing girls already grouping together. The darker skinned girls in one area, the smaller ones in another, and the strongest and cruelest all bunched up. She studied each of them, trying to figure out what they were like. How would she win this? Each of these contestants had trained, prepared, and were ready to kill to win. All Marlo did was start a small rebellion and get kicked out of school.
"So, stay with me? I'm going to assume every person in here is an asshole, and you're not, so we should stick together." Marya was trying to be upbeat. She probably shouldn't have used asshole.
"True. Everyone in here is an asshole." Marlo agreed, turning back towards Asja. At least she would have an ally in the competition now.
Marya nodded, grateful this girl hadn't known Asja before.
