Loren's face grew concerned. "Are you sure? We have plenty of food, but more importantly are you aware of any allergies or medications that you have/need?
Loren's face grew concerned. "Are you sure? We have plenty of food, but more importantly are you aware of any allergies or medications that you have/need?
"Er, no, not that I know of?" She replied quietly, her statement sounding more like a question.
Gracie figured she wasn't needed anymore and went back to the kitchen.
"Alright," Loren replied, and called back to the kids, "Make some spaghetti too!"
Elizabeth decided to go back upstairs to her room and sketch in her journal.
Noticing Elizabeth leaving, Loren called out one final message, "I'll call you down when dinner's ready!"
"Thank you," she answered, not sure if she was being loud enough for Loren to hear her.
Loren could hear the faint "thank you" over the boiling of the water and the squishing noises? that came from what she assumed was the meatball meat. half running and half walking over to the kitchen she found gracie putting the spaghetti in and max, tossing a ball of raw meatball meat into the air, and picking it up after it landed on the cutting board and reshaping it. "max, what on earth are you doing?" she asked.
"um… making meatballs?" he replied sheepishly, embarrassed that he'd been caught.
After a few minutes of sketching, Elizabeth grew tired of it and paced back and forth in her room. What do normal people do when they're bored? She asked herself, and answered herself with a shrug. Absolutely no clue.
Fiiiinally after everything was sorted out, Loren sent Gracie upstairs to tell Elizabeth that dinner was ready. Knocking lightly on the open door, her head peeking in, Gracie said in a light voice, "Hey mom told me to tell you that dinner's ready!"
Elizabeth jumped, putting a hand on her chest. "You nearly gave me a heart attack!" She said before realizing she had raised her voice. "Thanks - thank you."
"Oh, did I scare you?"
Elizabeth quickly shook her head. "No, it's - I'm fine. Thank you."
"Alright, well dinner's ready in any case," Gracie replied, taking note of Elizabeth's jumpiness. Liza! Okay, I have to call her Liza, she scolded herself in her head. Even in my head, I need to get used to calling her that!
Elizabeth nodded and carefully walked past Gracie downstairs and standing by the kitchen. Am I supposed to serve myself? Is this one of those families that serves you? Gods, it's been too long since I did this.
(I think I'm going to have to take a personal break from this for a while… see you in a couple hours…)
(Oh gracious, that's fine.)
(Hey so sorry I've been gone so long! I only planned it to be a couple of hours, but then I kinda forgot the location of this RP! Um, I'll try to make my post longer this time to make up for it)
"Come, sit!" Loren invited Elizabeth to have a seat. "Anywhere you'd like! I'm going to send Gracie to feed Etta first though."
"Aw mom, can't Max do it?" Gracie complained. "I love Etta, but I want El- Liza to feel comfortable here!"
"Yeah, well then she's gonna have to get used to your routine," Max jumped in.
Gracie shot Max a death glare. "Shut up, will you?"
Finn(who's the dad btw) got up from his position in the living room and addressed the kids. "Kids, no fighting now. Gracie, just go feed Etta. It won't take long, she just needs some more hay."
Gracie groaned. "Fine." and she trudged away. Sounds of rustling hay could be heard, and a little over 6 minutes later, she returned. "Done, can we eat now?"
"Yes, you know how this goes," Loren replied, sitting down in the closest chair.
(It's totally fine! I hope you're feeling better.)
Liza carefully sat down at the table and looked around for cues as to what she was supposed to do. She was still slightly confused, but at least no one was fighting. "Who's… Etta?" She asked after a moment.
"Her horse," Max smirked. "But now I can sneak up on you!"
"Maaaax, you know you're not supposed to do that," Gracie protested.
Max gave a fake pout. "Fine."
Elizabeth was visibly confused, but nodded. If she thought about it, they were acting a lot like she and her sister used to. That probably made sense.
"Well dig in kids!" Loren gave a nod, and picked up some salad and put it on her own plate. Offering the bowl, she asked, "Does anyone want some salad?"
Elizabeth nodded, cautiously taking the bowl and putting salad on her plate before setting the bowl back in the middle. She could only manage to pick at her food; the long flight had left her feeling even sicker than normal.
After all the family members had food on their plates, Loren nodded at Elizabeth. Thinking that Elizabeth had eaten some salad already, she asked, "How do you like the salad?"
"Oh! It's… um, it's very… well-mixed. The lettuce is really… really great," Elizabeth managed to smile slightly before returning her gaze to her plate.
"Thank you!" Loren replied brightly. Gracie nodded at Loren in acknowledgment, and gave her a thumbs up.
(Aaaaaah I need more Gracie in my replies!!)
(Also do you want to timeskip to after they finish dinner or smth?)
