“Oh, how loud is mine?” He asked.
“Oh, how loud is mine?” He asked.
She strained to listen to his heartbeat for a moment. It was soft and slow, and very faint. "Not very loud. It's how I can tell that you're mostly a vampire." She smiled at him. "But you're not a pureblood. If you were, I wouldn't be able to hear it at all."
Genevieve shifts uncomfortably in her seat, itching to leave and get to safety.
“You’re right there. So why is hers so loud?” He turned to Genevieve, a curious look on his face.
Genevieve glances at Aeron and quickly looks away.
She shuffles so she's closer to the door.
“Viv, you okay?” He called out.
"I… um… yeah. Definitely." Genevieve nods unconvincingly.
“No you’re not.”
Genevieve glances at the door again, worried. "I'm fine."
Lorena stares at the girl for a moment before looking back up at Aeron. "Usually human heartbeats are a lot louder than others…" she paused for a moment. Lorena knew that anybody discovered to be 95% human or more was immediately sold to purebloods like property. It was sickening, and there was no way she was going to reveal her to anybody. "I actually have no idea. Maybe her heart is louder because it's stronger than most hearts."
Genevieve holds the dagger in her pocket, ready to run out the door at the first sign of danger.
She glanced over at the girl, frowning. She seemed scared, hand near her pocket and body tense. Maybe Lorena was making her nervous? She cleared her throat, standing up. "I'm going to go talk to her real quick," she said, slowly crossing over to her table, but keeping her distance so that she didn't get too uncomfortable.
Elon, who had made his way inside and was eavesdropping, and looks at ‘Viv’. “Could be 100% human.” He says, looking at the floor and his boots. He honestly doesn’t care for human fate, even though he wasn’t completely interested in blood himself.
Genevieve looks at Lorena. "Um… hi?"
Lorena could hear her heart rate begin to quicken. She wasn't sure what to say at first, but decided to get straight to the point. "You shouldn't be in a city like this," she said, voice lowered.
((btw, Gen didn't hear what Elon said))
Genevieve feigns confusion. "What do you mean?"
Lorena resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "Most pureblood would kill to get their hands on you, and let me tell you, there are quite a few purebloods here," she explained. "Don't ask me how, but I can tell that you're over 95 percent human, and if you're not extremely careful, things could go very wrong for you."
"I'll be careful," Genevieve whispers, heart beating faster. "Can I trust you?"
"Probably more than anyone," she said. "I don't expect you to believe me, considering I'm a pureblood, but I do have good intentions."
Genevieve pauses for a moment, thinking. "Okay. Can you help me get out of here safely?"
Elon looks at Genevieve and walks over to her. He’s tall, mostly due to his think soled boots.
“If you go outside my dogs will get you. They’re probably mad today because they smell you.” He whispers, smiling crookedly. He doesn’t seem malicious though
"Yeah, but lets not leave Arron behind." She then looks at the new guy and glares at him, a bitter feeling in her stomach. "I'm sorry, I don't remember you being a part of this conversation."
(Sorry guys, I was in Home ec)
Aeron walked over to the group where Lorena, Viv and Elon were standing, “What’s happening?”
