"I'm actually free today." Dove blushed, "Not that I'm not busy. Oh! Not that I don't care about you! I-" she shifted feet, "Let's start from the beginning. Are you having an anxiety attack?"

A few minutes later, Briar emerged from the bathroom, pale and dizzy. Her hair was plastered to her forehead with sweat. She let out a low groan and leaned up against the wall, trying to recollect herself.
“It’s not fair..and it was all my fault..” stray tears rolled their way down her cheeks in jagged lines.

Caroline saw Briar walk out of the bathroom, pale and trembling. She didn't even need to ask what had happened. She walked over to her and pulled her into a tight hug.

Thomas scratched his nose, "Ah, no, um. Nothing, I was just, kinda.. daydreaming," he half laughed. Oh god. How cringey could he get?

"I… I-I think so." Oliver mumbled, slumping down into a nearby chair. I let him die. I let him die. I let him die. "I'll be al-alright. I d-don't want to be a burden." He stammered, furiously wiping the tears from his eyes.

Emilia turned the corner and saw Briar leaning against a wall by the bathroom with Caroline. "Hey." She smiled slightly and walked over to her. "I just want you to know…it's not your fault. It's not Oliver's fault either."

@@CheezeJesus

In need of comfort, Briar graciously took the hug. She was tired and shaken, really. All she wanted to do was go to her on-call room, sink into her mattress and never wake up.

Oliver tried to follow Dove's orders, taking a slow deep breath, but in the process he choked back another sob and burst into a coughing fit. My fault. My fault. My fault. I killed him. He felt as though his chest was constricting, making it harder to breath deeply. He clutched onto Dove's forearm for support, trying to ground himself.

@KalamariCakes

Thomas retreated back to his office with a long breath. Okay, then. It wasn't hard to get somebody's contact information right? Just.. ask. Well, somehow he was sure his decrepit social skills could screw up something as simple as walking.

@Natasha

Natalie needed to get away. She ran to the chapel and sat down on a pew and sobbed. She heard the flat lining monitors from the four-year-old patient. Her cousin. Her sadness weighed her down, but she cried out, "Thy will be done Lord."

@@CheezeJesus

“Four..” She croaked, her voice strangled. “He was only four..”
She pulled away from Caroline and gave her a tiny smile.
“I-I’m going to go rest for a bit, and clear my head.”

@PuffPoff

Seeing that Caroline already had it covered, she turned to walk away. Emilia smiled at the two girls and left them, making her way to the cafeteria. She sat down, not wanting to eat but just wanting a place to rest.

"Okay, hon. Rest up." she pleaded quietly. She walked away, and Caroline was about to go get something to eat when her pager buzzed again. "Haemorrhage."
She gasped and ran back to the room she had just left. Ms. Kent was blinking slowly, and blood seeped onto the sheets between her legs.
"I'm not trained to deal with this yet!" she said shrilly. With shaking hands she paged Dr. Connor; he would know what to do. He arrived within seconds and had the situation under control with 3 barked orders. He placed a hand on Caroline's shoulder.
"Good thing you called, we can still stop it." Caroline nodded in response. "Go check on the kid."
She did. She went to the baby boy and brought him to the x-ray room. She gently set him on the bed and set up the material. She took a couple of x-rays. brought him back to the room, and exited again to get the results. She was trembling, scared of what she might find.

Dove reached over and wiped a tear from his eye, "Sit. Just sit. And let yourself cry. Crying is an overflow of emotion, when you have too much emotion, your body bottles out some of it and puts it into a tear. That means your tears are basically carrying the chemical compound for sadness now, so go ahead. Cry."

@German_Boats

Geez I feel like such an outsider
Lenore walked into one of the patients rooms, and tucked a stray piece of red hair behind her ear.

@Natasha

"Why." Natalie asked aloud. "Why did you take him?" Sobs racked her chest. Loss was a hard thing for Natalie. She had only lost two patients during her time here, but it had been hard for Natalie to let go.

"I-I killed him Dove!" Oliver wailed, tears pouring freely down his face. "Maybe if I hadn't paused to look at the coffee machine or if I-I ran faster I-" He burried his head in his knees, curling up on the chair.
