"Ich bin Vivienne. Kann ich noch einen Kaffee trinken?", she laughed, speaking fluent German back to her. "I'm not kidding, but that was a joke. How long have you had this place?"
"Ich bin Vivienne. Kann ich noch einen Kaffee trinken?", she laughed, speaking fluent German back to her. "I'm not kidding, but that was a joke. How long have you had this place?"
"in Ordnung," She said. "I'm surprised you know German," she said, making another coffee for her.
Samandriel boredly muttered something in an odd, inhuman language, and a few sparks started to boredly dance around the rim of his cup. He watched them as the others talked
Viv shrugged, secretly pleased. "I spent a couple decades in Germany, picked up the language." She slipped a hand into the pockets of her white jean shorts, paying Amber. "Stupid Hitler.", she muttered under her breath.
"Der Kaffe geht aug mich," she said, passing the money back.
"Hitler? Oh, I've seen a couple versions of him. Believe it or not there's a dimension where he's not a bad dictator. The universes where he's not are more interesting though. I more or less sat back with a bag of popcorn to watch the war when it happened in this dimension."
Viv thanked Amber warmly, spinning around to glare at him. "Well, that's just lovely, isn't it. Unlike you, some people were actually crawling in trenches and almost dying on several occasions, so I suggest you be a tad more sensitive moving on.", she snapped, eyes blazing.
"Why don't you guys… not talk to each other? You're both giving me a headache," she said. "Oh god, I need more weed. Anybody have a pipe?"
Vivienne tensed up at the mention of drugs, but let it pass, moving to sit by the window with her fifth cup of coffee.
"Oh relax. I wanted to help the first few times the big Word Wars came around, but guardian rules state that one guardian can't interfere with another's charge. I think the one with Hitler started when this world's guardian's magic started to take a royal swan dive."
Samandriel pulled a pipe out of his trenchcoat like that ridiculous cliché scene you sometimes see in movies. "Why yes, I do have a pipe."
"Thank you!" She said, grabbing it from him. "I'll be right back, I've got a room that I regularly smoke in. Anybody want to come with?"
"Definetly not."
"Sign me up." Samandriel chugged the last of his coffee before setting it on the counter
She chuckled at the two opposite responses. "You sure, Viv? You don't have to smoke, we could just chat," she offered, taking her apron off and setting it on the counter. "I even have a mask you can put over your nose and mouth."
Vivienne shook her head firmly. "Non. I don't go anywhere near drugs. But thank you for the offer."
"And I don't get high easily, so I promise I won't accidentally burn you out again. My powers revolve around fire so my body tends to reflect that, but I can usually keep it under control."
She shrugged. "I don't really consider marijuana a drug. I mean, it is technically a drug, but to me it's just like a really high dosage of tylenol."
Vivienne shook her head again, the slightest hint of fear showing up in her eyes.
Amber stepped into the room, pulling out a lighter and lighting the pipe, taking a hit. She passed it to Samandriel, holding the smoke in her lungs for about 15 seconds before finally releasing it.
Samandriel took the pipe and breathed in the smoke. It was nice, kinda reminded him of the air in his palace
She took the pipe back, taking another hit, breathing in as much smoke as physically possible, then letting it go after another 15 seconds. It took nearly all of her energy not to cough. "Jesus, I'hve ne'er taken a hit that big"
Samandriel chuckled. "Lightweight," he muttered before taking another hit
"Wha?? I'm not," she said, her eyes drooping before she snatched the pipe and took another hit. "Fuuuccck youuuu," she said while blowing smoke rings in his face.
Vivienne plugged her ears on the other room, finishing off the delicious coffee and looking out onto the beach. She shuddered. She'd never had much of a liking for water…
