"I'm 19. How about you?" He asked, fiddling with the strings of his hoodie.
'Same. 19…' replied Tyler, trailing off. Nineteen, and I just got kicked out… 'I'm near the end of my first year at medical school, but I'm not sure if I'll continue it.'
"Medical school?" Mitchell said, raising his eyebrows. "Damn, that's impressive."
'Thanks,' replied Tyler, trying to keep a happy tone in his voice. 'But it requires a lot of money. Unfortunately.'
"You got a point," Mitchell said. "But if you need any help with financial stuff, let me know. I could probably give you a hand."
'No, no, I'm fine, honestly,' rushed Tyler, not wanting to put a burden on anyone. 'I did have the money, but… yeah, I mean, I'm not even that interested in it anymore…' He was still interested in medical, but after what had happened, it was merely impossible.
"Calm down," Mitchell said slowly. "It's no big deal. I'm just saying that if you ever need somebody to lean on, financially or otherwise, I've got you."
'Thank you. Actually, I'm having a bit of an issue at the moment, and if you seem so insistent to help, then… maybe you could help with this?' asked Tyler, hoping what he was about to ask wasn't too much.
He leaned closer to him a bit, a strand of hair falling in front of his eyes. "Yeah, of course. What's up?"
'Well…' Tyler sighed, thinking of how to say it. 'I, uh, came out to my parents last night. As trans. And you, uh, you see all those bags over there? You can probably guess what happened.'
Mitchell's smile fell. "Oh shit," he muttered, leaning back and running a hand through his hair. "That's fucking horrible. I can try to get you a place to stay for a while, or you can stay with me."
Tyler thought for a moment. 'I-I don't mean to be a burden, but if I could stay with you, that would - uh - that would be great.'
(So it seems to me like maybe our characters needed something to unite them, a common enemy or problem they're trying to solve so they're not just awkwardly flirting and making small talk. Could this be that? Do you all want to go in that direction at all?)
(I apologize in advance for Mitchell being a gay lil shit)
He smiled at him. "Don't worry about it. I have an extra empty room, and I could probably buy another mattress so that nobody has to sleep on the couch. Unless," he looked directly at Tyler. "You want to sleep in my bed," he joked, wiggling his eyebrows.
(I agree, but what problem are we solving?)
Tyler winked, laughing. 'I wouldn't mind that at all, Mitchell.'
(What problem bruhuhuh)
Mitchell's eyes widened, a blush creeping onto his face. He hadn't expected Tyler to respond that way. He laughed it off, leaning back and not saying anything.
'Sorry for being a bit forward,' chuckled Tyler. 'I see you've finished your drink. Do you want another one? I'll get it, considering you've just offered for me to live in your house.'
"No it's fine." He looked down at his drink. "And I appreciate the offer, but if I have anymore caffeine I might die. I think by now I've had like 8 cups of coffee."
(Adopting the gay children)
(yes let's have all of the gay children adopt each other)
