Hell yeah

A Twenty One Pilots song played softly inside the cabin of Patagonia McAdden's rented Ford, the bass rattling the windows as the bus clambered smoothly up the side of a mountain. The road gave way at a guardrail to his right, crumbling down the steep slope to reveal the whole of the Catawba River Valley before them. The sun was positioned low in the sky; it was about 5:30, he knew, and once the group unpacked they'd have to make dinner and camp straightaway.
Soon they arrived at a small, mossy clearing: thick foliage blocked most of the view but gave them privacy, the area was hidden from the main road, and to their right stood a magnificent cliff, almost 50 feet high, covered in strands of Ivy that hung limply over the opening of a large cave.

"What do you guys think?" he asked with faux haughtiness.

"Wow," Alpine softly whisled at the landscape. "Normally I'm not really the one for camping, but I think this is going to be great." Actually, this was the first time he was going on a trip without one of the members from his regular friend group. He took a picture on his phone, already read to brag to Overcast when he went home.

"That's the spirit," Patagonia replied, warm with pleasure. He'd done good, and maybe now he'd have some friends to share this place with. "Alright, we need all these supplies into the cave by dusk. I'll go ahead and get started on dinner, and…"
They were all staring at him.
Am I micro-managing again?
"Ahm… Just go ahead and do whatever, I guess."

Nickala giggled "It's ok to manage shit Patagonia. Without it I don't know what to do" she replied, hugging her blanket closer to herself and writing slowly in her notebook.

Payte rolled his eyes jokingly and made his way over to the remains of his last campfire. He came here a lot, almost every week, so the coals were deep enough to get things cooking soon.

Augustine stretched dramatically as she stepped out of the van, wishing for all the world there was service in the middle of the woods. "Hey, does anyone wanna walk around?"

"I will, I need to get my mind off a few things" she replied, kneeling down to warm herself at the campfire

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't start Smores without me!" Jalende said to the campers there.

"S'mores are weird," Oak conceded, nose wrinkling. "They're like… a sticky death trap." His eyes clouded for a moment, his expression distant, before returning his focus back to their camp. "This whole trip is weird. Where I'm from, this wasn't considered 'fun.' It was life."

"Well I like smores!"

"Eat mine," Oak replied.

"Alright, Jalende, the S'mores stuff is in my green hiking bag, in the brain- I mean, the top part." Patagonia corrected himself. He may have been used to hiking terms like "the brain" of the bag, but no one else here would understand.
Yet.
Everyone seemed pretty happy; maybe one day they'd enjoy the woods as much as he did.

Jalende looked at the top part of the the backpack finding the shore stuff, "Thanks!" Jalende put the shore stuff near the middle taking a marshmallow putting it on a stick(?) and put it over the fire. After awhile the marshmallow was on fire.

Alpine walked over to where the some of the others were seated by the fire. Despite being extroverted, he was still awkward and wasn't quite sure how to start up a conversation. He tucked his knees up to his chest and looked around himself, willing the inspiration to come to him.

Patagonia watched his new friends out of the corner of his eye, seeking approval while at the same time preparing a large pot of Chili. "You guys having fun?"

Alpine looked over at him, replying, "Oh, yeah! I am at least." He gave a big canine smile with that.
