Katya gave a grateful look to Caleb as he got the guy off of her. She sat down on the floor and grabbed her sword as the people fled. She felt useless at the moment. Couldn't even get a dumb guy off her back.
Luna got Sparrow's call and was rushing over to the gym to check on her kids. She needed them to be okay, but it probably wasn't so.
Sparrow called Uriah and Luna on a group call and waited for them to pick up as she ran around the house, from room to room, picking up her bow and arrows along with a couple other necessary things.
Nathan ran over to Caleb and the others. "I called mom, she said shes calling the others and coming over in a bit." He responded
When Uriah got the call immediately he left work leaving his second hand in charge. Uriah took out his phone and called Luna to have her come pick him up in the family car. There was no way he could walk to the gym. His heart was beating so fast, he felt like he was going to pass out. Why now? And who are they. He thought about his girls and hooed they were safe.
Caleb slid down the wall with his head in hands. I should have been able to protect her. He looked over to Katya again. She must be feeling this worse than anyone. "Katya…" He wasn't even sure what to say.
Cyrus stood up slowly. There had been some sense of urgency in Sparrow's voice and the way she moved.
"Sparrow, what's up?" he asked, closing his book and placing it down.
Sparrow looked at him with wet eyes. "Its Esmae. Nathan said that a group of people came and kidnapped her, leaving behind a note." She said.
Nathan went I to the corner of the room and opened his fist. One of them had slapped a thick wad of paper on his hand before making their escape. He looked at the paper and smelled it, but nothing interesting came from that test.
Luna spotted the car a little way from the gym. She wanted to go and check the girls but knew Uriah would be more panicked. She took her shaky hands and started the car to go and get Uriah, it was the smarter of the two choices. After a few minutes, she pulled up to where Uriah was, "H-hop in."
Katya looked at Caleb. She wanted to feel some sort of anger at him for letting them getaway. He was older than the rest of them and close to par with Esmae. So why couldn't he do anything! But instead, all she felt was a numbness as she continued to look at him, "Why? Why her of all people?"
"Sparrow, I-"
Vida had just been coming down the stairs when Sparrow said this.
"Esmae was kidnapped?" she echoed.
Cyrus gritted his teeth. He wanted to help, but was there anything he could do? He had work to do, and if he didn't get the money from today's tutoring sessions, that might be bad news for him trying to support his family. But Esmae was family too, as far as he was concerned. Yet, what could he do?
"What do we need to do? I'll help how I can, but…"
Uriah was shaking which made it harder to get in the car. "Let's go." Was all he could say.
"I-I don't know." That was a good question. Why Esmae of all people? She didn't seem to have anyone who was specifically had something towards her. "Katya, I just want to say sorry. I froze, seeing something like happen to someone you love, it's hard to spring into action when it happens so suddenly." Honestly he would blame Katya if she hated him. But he was going to get her back, hopefully alive.
Luna drove back to the gym with Uriah in the car. She could feel her hands shake, but kept in control of the vehicle the entire way there. Once there she got out of the car and went to help Uriah out considering how much difficulty he had getting in.
Katya gave him a little nod as tears began to spring forth from her eyes. Her words started to slur together just slightly, "I get that. Iunderstand. Don'tapologize, please."
"Just grab whatever tools you might need, some of the kids attacked the kidnappers and may have gotten hurt." She turned to Vida and put a hand on her shoulder. "Yes love. Grab a small knife just incase they linger." She said, turning to grab the key to her bike. "I'm taking the Bike because its quicker. You guys can come with me of take a safer route." She said
Nathan stood up and walked over to the group, unfurling the paper. "Theres a note. They left a note but I want the parents to read it first." He said
Once out of the car Uriah ran inside. He hadn't heard of Esmae's disappearance. As soon as he heard something happened he blanked out. "Katya!" He busted through the doors and saw her immediately. He ran over and pulled her into a hug. "Katya, are you okay?" Caleb couldn't look at Uriah, he was there and still couldn't do anything. "Where's your sister? Is Esmae okay?"
Katya looked up at her da- Uriah with tear-filled eyes. She saw Luna in the background looking frantically for her sister. She shook her head as she reached up to wipe her eyes. She muttered quietly not able to come to terms with the words, "TheytookEsmae. They took her dad."
Luna heard Katya's words and felt everything start to crumble around her. Another person close to her snatched away in an instance it was so close to all those years ago, but why? The nightmare was supposed to be over.
Cyrus nodded. "Yes, I'll try to hurry up, but we're taking the safer route. Vida, go get dressed- quickly. Make sure to stay close to me when we get there. Bring your dog."
He gathered up a few things, including a pair of weighted gauntlets Sparrow had made for him, along with a short blade. Then, he messaged his students to cancel for the day. Family emergency.
Vida ran downstairs once she was done. She had a few knives strapped into her belt and was prepared for action.
"You won't be fighting. It's last resort in case of ambush, sweetie."
Vida tilted her head a bit. "You… sure?"
Noodles followed her downstairs. He had a harness on and a leash going behind him. Vida picked it up and walked him out the door after Cyrus, then they all piled into the car.
Magnus came over to Nathan and put an arm around his shoulders. Too shocked at what had happened, Nathan couldn't do anything but watch as the Morrells broke down
Sparrow whistled once she was out the door and Mali hopped from the upstairs balcony onto her shoulder. "Hold on." She muttered, shifting him onto her chest as she sped down the street.
Probably breaking about 20 speeding rules, Sparrow made it to the gym in half the time and hopped of the bike. She ran inside to see the damages and her eyes rested on Nathan and Magnus. She ran over to the pair if them and immediately checked for any wounds. "Oh my god are you guys ok? She asked. Nathan nodded giving her a one armed hug. "Were fine. I just have a couple bruises from being kicked off the Man's body." He muttered
Uriah's heart stopped, and he held his breath. Esmae was a lot of trouble at first and hard to deal with, but as she opened up more she showed him that she was a lovely girl who had a lot of compassion for those around her. Then he remembered Katya was in his arms breaking down. He took a deep breath and did what Uriah did best, kept a level head. Though it hurt there were people here that didn't need more people freaking out. "Katya, honey. How about you go to mom really quick." He looked up at Caleb with killer intent. All Caleb could do was stand there. He knew Uriah was one of the best fighter Panther had when he was there, but because if his limp, Caleb figured he could take him if needed.
(I love how Caleb is like 'oh shit, papa bear coming through' looks him up and down 'I can take him, bring it')
(Haha, he's sorta of a cocky brat. Caleb VS Uriah. Who will win? Haha)
(Lol)
Katya gave Uriah a little nod and walked over to where Luna was. Her mom quickly scooped Katya up into her arms and held her close. Katya buried her head against Luna as the silent tears began to fall while Luna watched Uriah. She wanted to speak out from what she figured might happen but couldn’t find her voice to say it.
"Let's talk." He led Caleb outside. Like any further, Uriah was upset the the oldest and strongest one in there could keep from his daughter being taken away. Once outside he turned to him, anger all over his face. "What did you think you were doing? She was right there, and you did nothing!" Caleb stood tall trying to intimidate Uriah, which was failing. "Like you never froze up before." Uriah was shocked that this kid had the nerve to talk back. Even of he wasn't much older. Uriah walked closer and poked Caleb's chest. "No, because I was trained not to. You freeze up, you die. They must have been taking it easy on you. Unless that was the plan. To make you weak and use you as a training dummy." Caleb's hands balled into fists, just as he was about to raise them Uriah pushed him against the wall. "I may have a bad leg, but I can still beat your ass. Be careful of who you challenge kid. It may kill you in the future." Uriah then walked away. Caleb had a lot to learn. He was though he was the best, and could beat anyone. But seeing Uriah like that and how easily he pushed him against the wall he knew he needed more training, not physically, but more mentally and to be more strategic. Learn more about his enemies and yo take action. "Damn it." He hit the wall behind him. Caleb thought it was best if he stayed outside for a while.
"Mum, there was a note." Nathan said, raising his hand and giving Sparrow the small peice of paper. She frowned and took a look at it, unfolding it and smoothing it out. Reading it over, her eyes widened before she read and re-read it. "Luna, Uriah. This isn't the last we've seen of them." She said, her voice almost a whisper. On the paper, black words angrily scrawled read 'ߧđþçəæ says hello. You stole from her, now she will steal from you. Watch your back, this isn't the end'. The name was smudged so they couldn't read it however the message was clear. The needed the guild's help.
Luna looked up at Sparrow. She heard what she said and held a hand out while still holding Katya, “H-Here let me read it.”
Adie slipped into the back door of the gym, looking concerned at everyone there. "Is everything alright?" He called out warily, not seeing the note, but knowing something was wrong.
Uriah ran a hand through his hair. "Great." Right now what they needed to do was gather everyone back together. Or at least their best fighters. Uriah turned to Adie. "No, everything is not alright."
Esmae slowly started to wake up. The lights above her were bright, so she couldn't open eyes right away. When she tried to stand her body wouldn't move. It was then that she felt a great pressure on her arms and legs. Her eyes snapped open, ignoring the lights above her. "What?" Looking from side to side she saw she had been strapped down to a table in star position. The room was white, almost too white. And it was extremely clean, whoever this person was must be a clean freak. She didn't see anyone else room. But that didn't stop her anxiety from shooting through the room. Ot had been a long time since she was in a situation like this. From the far side room Esmae heard a beep, followed by a click. The person the walked in was wearing a plain white mask with gloves and everything on. It this person really a clean freak? "Hello and welcome." What came from this person mouth was a distorted voice. Like they were wearing a voice changer. They don't want me to know who they are. Esmae also couldn't tell of it was a woman or a man. "What do you want from me?" She tried to act strong, but White Mask laughed. "I want your body, mind and the amazing skills tou have. I've been watching you, and you are exactly what I need." With that, White mask walked away. As she left, about three more people came in. They took a rag and stuffed it in her mouth. They gave her nothing to numb her, or make her fall asleep and they hooked wires up to her shock her, put needles in her with who knows what's inside. Take blood samples and many more. The needles didn't bother her much. But the shocking was painful. Everyone time they did it her back would arch from the pain, followed by a muffled scream. It was so bad that they had to have two more people come in and hold her body down, so she would stop moving.
