"Yeah… I guess the benefit to being really short is I have more leg room." Cas laughed half heartedly, gently petting Buster with one hand. He knew petting service dogs was usually forbidden, but as they lived together and all, he figured he was allowed.
"I hate the security too. My crutches always go off." Cas was one of the only people he let pet Buster, along with most of the more anxious people in the family.
Cas nodded. "I always have to take off Nix's collar or it goes off as well. They let me carry him through, though, which is good…" Nix purred softly, his tail curled around Cas's arm.
(I realized I never described Nix oof. He's just a black cat with blue eyes. His paw pads and nose are speckled. A good boi)
"Nix is a good boy, they usually let me walk Buster through. After I point angrily at his vest for a while, of course." Kai laughed, his laugh with more of a chuckle, but yeah.
"Mhmm. Buster is a good boy too… His vest might go off though. Nix's vest is just an emotional support animal one, so it's less complicated." Nix seemed to be dozing off in Cas's arms as he was pet.
"Yeah, Buster is a big ol' multitasker, he's a trauma animal and a service one."
Cas gently pet Buster again, nodding. "Nix is one of the cats I raised from a kitten when I was living in the streets. He and I always had a special bond, and he was always pretty much an unofficial emotional support animal, so I figured I might as well get him certified. He goes everywhere with me now."
"Mhm, are you hungry? I think we're going to get some lunch before heading to the villa."
"Er… I guess so. I didn't eat anything this morning, so probably." As if on cue, Cas's stomach growled and he got chills. "Where are the others?"
(Ack I died sorry Imma just say Kitty was with them the whole time)
Katherine gave a small nod before looking around nervously. She had already almost ran into 7 people, and none of this was going well for her.
Gwen looked around at her family worriedly. She didn’t like planes, but she didn’t normally have anxiety, and any trauma that had happened in her past had been long forgotten from her years of living with these people. She remembered it sometimes, but she didn’t let it bother her. It was much better to be happy and excited about life than to be anxious and nervous. Her family though, had trouble a lot.
Gwen moved to stand by Katherine, slipping her hand into her sister’s to offer what little support she could. “Lunch sounds good. I’m thinking someplace small so we don’t have to be around lots of people.” In a low voice she continued, “You okay Kitty?”
Katherine's eyes flickered around again before she nodded. "I'm fine," she said quietly, moving closer to Gwen.
Gwen nodded and squeezed Katherine’s hand. Then she gestured to the left with her free arm. “I read about someplace only a couple minutes walk that way. It’s small, but the reviews were good. What do you guys think?”
“Sounds good to me,” Jay agreed, glancing at the others for their opinions.

"Sure…" Cas stayed beside Kai, seeming a bit tense.
"Sounds good." Kai grabbed Cas's had, giving it a reassuring squeeze as his other hand held Buster's leash.
"We have to get out of the damn airport first, though. This place is like a maze…" Cas glanced around, letting Kai lead him.
Gwen lead the way, dragging her suitcase behind her. She still held onto Katherine’s hand, squeezing reassuringly whenever she felt her sister tense up. The signs were confusing, thought helpfully most of them were in english as well as Spanish (they’re in Spain btw, unless any of you would prefer that they’d be somewhere else). She followed the signs to the exit and finally they burst through the doors to the outside. Gwen took a deep breath of fresh air, and loosened her grip on Katherine to make sure she could let go if she wanted.
