The narrow lips peeled back in a hiss - an actual, animalistic hiss - displaying a line of teeth equally pointed. Aras couldn't help it (wouldn't have wanted to help it, an old voice noted): the lines of his tall frame went tense. Though he didn't jump back, the position of his feet shifted, knees loose, posture dropping in the moment of surprise to its old habitual defensive, the body's angle a more difficult target now. Fingers moved at his sides, pulling at the strings around him to thicken the air between them. If the man moved suddenly or attempted a blow, he'd find himself having to pass through space suddenly gone sticky and sluggish.

The lips made an effort to draw back to their normally composed line, and Aras leaned in just the barest of a touch, his voice the low hiss now. "Take it from one undesirable to another: people around these parts don't like those of us who pass through that are different. I'm trying to save you an unwelcome experience." He drew back, still obviously unsettled, frowning at the other. Shows what you get from trying to help someone, they just get all up in your face for it.

"L-Life is an unwelcome experience, yet we still live it." They said again. "By the way, I don't move through space, I glitch." Mendax continued, for once grateful for their glitch. AWAY, GET AWAY, GET AWAY, AWAY, AWAY YOU IDIOT! Their mind screamed, they teleported into the outside elements, Mendax's arm caught in the wall. "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!" Mendax yelled, trying to tug their arm out of the wall. It didn't hurt, Mendax's arm was just numb.

(Do I enjoy making my character look like asses and then try and make them have a redemption ark? Hell yes.)

@studiomnivorous

Well, he couldn't argue that one.

And just in case this was about to become one of those experiences, Aras' hand clenched. To the outside, it might look simply like he was preparing to throw a punch; what was actually happening though, was the wound knot of a skein preparing. If this thing moved in such a way - passing through the fabric of spacetime like an unthreaded needle - then the easiest solution seemed to be use that recent skein of thickened, compressed spacetime to tie them down. If the figure seemed like they were going to come at him, Aras was going to bind them so firmly with the strings of the present that they would need a safeword to get out.

But, the next 'glitching' didn't go that way. The figure was gone - the weight of it blessedly removed - and then back again, the weight felt farther away along the Weave. Faintly Aras could hear them screaming.

The lips drew in a line. It didn't sound good.
But then, Aras had already tried to help once, and see where that had gone….

(Hey, I was away all day, let’s just say my character fell asleep for convience’s sake). Mellia awoke to see the medical supplies laid before her. She gratefully took the bandages, covering the gashes on her arm and stomach. Her short rest had took the worst of exhaustion off her, both magical and physical.

"Of-of all the times you dec-decide not to work… It had to be the on-one time I needed you too!" Mendax muttered to themselves, getting everything but their arm to glitch. If I have to cut my arm off again! I swear! I hate this body so much! Why did Jasper convince me to get this time period and body? They thought with a glare directed at their scared arm.

Snagar hopped upwards again on his stool as that man of earlier appeared again. His ears twitched, tail moving a bit. The goblin's yellow eyes lit up as this man showed him hospitably, something he wasn't used to when entering these places. So he was very happy to be noticed and not instantly driven out just because of him being a goblin. Snagar set his small claws on the counter, giving the other a toothy smile, showing sharp fangs.
"Ooo! Thank you for noticing Snagar!"
The goblin looked up and behind the counter towards the shelves behind the tall man. Though a sudden sound as well as a minor commotion got both his and the other's attention. That weird 'man' had suddenly fell…through his chair? Now that was something Snagar had never seen before. The small creature nearly jumped off his seat to go investigate, but instead decided against it. Sometimes it was best to just keep one's distance, incase something went wrong.
The yell of the strange 'man' made the goblin feel on edge. His tail started to lash back and forth, ears twitching again. Snagar's yellow eyes glowed, the pupils seemingly narrowing into thin slits. The creature's ear twitched as he heard the familiar soft 'tap,tap,tap' on a window. Snagar turned to see the legs of his mount against the window. Gloom, as he called his mount, had heard the sudden commotion. Usually, loud noises and yells meant danger, so the spider was simply doing what it was trained, to make sure its rider was safe…much to the annoyance of Snagar, even though he knew Gloom simply had good intentions to keep him away from harm.
The goblin hissed something under his breath, and in response, the giant legs that had once been very lightly tapping on the window swiftly disappeared. Gloom probably went to a dark corner somewhere to hide and wait. Well, now that was taken care of, Snagar looked back to the others in the room, hoping nobody had seen the giant spider legs that had been laid against the window…

@studiomnivorous

((No worries! As mentioned, we'll make it all work))

Of course he'd notice the gnoblii. For one, they weren't a common sight, if not in these parts then at least not to Aras. Two, this one didn't act like one on the warpath: a lone gnoblin was usually an outsider or an advance scout, and in Aras' experience, scouts tended not to be so…hn, obvious. "You're welcome…Snagar?" He tested out the unfamiliar taste of the creatures name, pointedly turning his back on the commotion still coming from outside (and though the Weave jangled, the source of the odd weight didn't move, which for the moment was fine by him. He'd been none too pleased with his interactions thus far.). The motion turned him away from the window, and so he didn't see any legs, just the change in Snagnar's body language.

"Did you…" a pause, catching the odd expression on the creature's face, and Aras shifted his weight, an unconscious echo of the gnoblin's discomfort, "…hn, want to order anything?"

The movement in the middle of the room shifted the granite gaze for a moment; the woman was awake again, which was good. Aras looked to her, the copper curve of chin inclining again in silent question. Whether that question was are you okay or did you also want to order something was up to debate. Aras really wasn't a man of many words, it seemed.

@studiomnivorous

((By the by, Aras doesn't hate Mendax or anything…he's just prone to staying away from potential trouble unless he's asked or given a really good reason to get involved. That redemption arc you'd mentioned will go wonders to soothing a fussy Weaver))

(I'm not worried! Mendax is usually like that, but Jasper (Cough thier boyfriend cough) Is trying to get Mendax to be more out of their shell)

Mellia smiled at the man, not so much out of happiness as to reassure him. “Thank you for the medical supplies. Anything to eat or drink would probably be good, what do you have?”

@Dragoncita group

((OOC: Rules imply no need to ask to join, simply hop in))

Snagar's tail twitched slightly again. He shifted his feet a bit as he stood on his seat. The creature felt as if this other had sensed his own shifty movements. So the goblin plopped himself back down on the stool. So far, it didn't seem anyone had noticed the giant spider legs that had once been tapping on the windows.
The goblin shifted to turn around and face the bar. Once again his yellow eyes were looking through the shelves on the wall. His ear twitched, seeing a female enter. Hearing the woman ask her question, Snagar looked back to the man.
"She ask question Snagar want to know; What you have?"
Snagar didn't know too much about what humans had to sell. Well, he heard stories…as well as a few raids he had been apart of before…

(My character is named Simon) Simon sits at the bar and orders a drink

@studiomnivorous

Aras nodded to the woman seated towards the middle of the room, then gave a slight shrug, cutting an eye to the gnoblin as well. "I'll be honest, I'm…not entirely sure?" The husky voice lilted in question, and then Aras paused, a long-fingered hand running over his face. When it lifted, he shrugged again. "I'm really just working here on a temporary basis. Not sure where the barkeep is…" - probably avoiding me so he doesn't have to pay me, he thought, the eyes shifting lowly to the door leading to the back kitchens and cellars - "…but I…will do what I can in the meantime." Another pause, realizing how unhelpful it sounded. "I had a sandwich earlier," he added, as if that might help clarify matters some.

The grey eyes cut to the newest patron, who'd sat themselves at the bar. For a moment, the look was unreadable (and internally, the Weaver wondered just how much work he'd signed up for? Where was that damned keep?) before softening the barest bit. Not this person's fault that Aras happened to be behind the bar and no one else seemed to be in sight. The thin lips spread in a smile that didn't quite reflect on the rest of his body language: a smile full of somewhat pointy teeth at that. "What kind of drink?" Not that…uh, he knew much about serving drinks, either.

But a piece of gilg paid out is a piece of gilg earned, and any bit of extra money would help pay for this month's medicine, so. Temporary barkeep it was?

Simon noticed the persona taking a glance and he then said “hello.”

@studiomnivorous

"…Hello," he responded. A dark brow curled upwards: a question, though it could have easily have been in doubt as it could be in query. Perhaps the man hadn't heard him, though the smile slipped a bit regardless. Aras titled his head forward a bit, accentuating his question again with the movement. "What kind of drink?"

@studiomnivorous

Aras blinked. The tall frame turned slightly, looking at the shelves behind him. Hn, bottle, bottle, bottle of something unidentifable, bottle…ah. Whiskey. Of some kind. Sure. Technically whiskey.

That plastered smile again, full of teeth. "Only the finest!"

Long fingers snatched it before the other could (hopefully) see what the label was, and he quickly poured a glass. That looked like a solid pour of drink, right?

…Aras did not drink much, if at all, and he was desperately hoping it didn't show. "Two pieces, please."

Anatoliy Kuragin

How incompetent, Mellia thought. To work in a bar, even on a temporary base, and not know how to fill in as a barkeep. Still, the man had been kind enough to offer her medical aid earlier, so she kept her thoughts to herself. “Well I guess I could probably do with a sandwich.” She said, instead. Mellia really did need some food.

Simon then took the glass and slides two pieces of gold to the barkeep
