Caelen felt Atlas leaning on him and grumbled. "Personal space is a thing my dude." He glared at the other boy and crossed his arms
Atlas returned the glare full force. “Do you want us to get caught? Shut up or I’ll make you.” He peeked through the door again, and seeing and hearing no one, decided to open the door, albeit a bit slowly in case he was wrong.
"Asshole." Caelen muttered under his breath. Making it out here without getting captured was going to be difficult considering that Atlas seemed to be a do first think later type of guy and Caelen was an asshole.
He whipped his head around to stare incredulously at Caelan. Me? The asshole? He has got to be kidding me. “Look, we both want out of here, but when you keep mumbling and grumbling, it makes it a lot harder than it has to be. So please, shut up.” he spat, giving the other one last glare before continuing down the hallway.
"No." Caelen said before finally, finally, shutting up. He looked around and flinched when he heard voices coming down the hall towards them. well, we gon' die today he thought, silently praying for his dad and brother.
Shit! Atlas quickly turned to Caelan and whispered rapidly. “Run into the garden and hide behind the rose bushes. I’ll come get you when I’m done,” he paused, the voices being nearer than before. “I’ll take care of them.” he gave a gentle push to the other, nudging him in the direction of the garden.
"You look like a twig, are you 100% sure you can do something?" He asked, looking at him with his eyebrows raised and his arms crossed.
(I apologize for him XD)
(LMAOOAJKDHAXOJA HE’S HILARIOUS)
Atlas gave him a deadpanned look. “You’re not the only one with powers, dummy. Now shoo.” he waved his hands at him, urging him to go and hide. He was sure he could take on a couple pesky guards; he’d done it once, he can do it again.
(Lmao thanks)
"Yeah, no." Caelen rolled his eyes and activated his ability slightly, listening to the sounds coming closer
Atlas forcibly turned Caelan so he was facing towards him and looked him straight in the eyes. “Caelan. I’m being serious. I don’t want to hurt you.” he pleaded. Control wasn’t exactly thing he had; he just knew how to radiate it and how forceful it was.
"You? Hurt me? Unless you have an extra special power, I don't think that can happen." He said, eyebrows raised.
(It would be funny if it was only a pair of maids gossiping XD)
(oh bro that's GOLD)
He threw his hands up, obviously frustrated. "Fine! Stay here, as if I care," he said, exasperated. Atlas took a step in front of Caelan, hands flexing in and out of fists, preparing for the worst, when…
Two maids turned the corner, obviously gossiping, too caught up in the latest royal gossip to notice the two males until they were almost right in front of them. Atlas straightened, trying to act as natural as he could in a situation like this.
"Hello, Sir Atlas!" the blond-haired one greeted him as they both curtsied, eyeing Caelan. He rushed to explain to prevent any unnecessary gossip running around and ruining the escape. "Hi girls, meet my, uh," he grabbed the other's arm, tugging him close as he smiled rather fakely. "Consort! This is, erm-" he glanced up, eyes begging for help.
Caelen brought a warm smile onto his face and bowed at the waist. "Hello ladies, I am Cae. I was recently brought to Sir Atlas to assist him in his daily tasks. You can see he doesn't have much to fight with, so as a student of the knight academy in the next town, I was hired to help him." He said, speaking in an even tone as to not bring unwanted attention to himself.
The maids’ eyes brightened, “Wow, it’s rare that we see a newbie here!” the other exclaimed, previous gossip forgotten.
Atlas’ grip tightened on his arm at the words ”doesn’t have much to fight with.” He laughed, “Isn’t he just so funny? Well, we best be going on our walk, nice talking to you.” he slightly bowed his head, turning and dragging Caelan into the garden. The faint call of ”Have fun in the garden!” reached his ears, and Atlas’ cheeks started to burn. It was pretty common knowledge what happened in there.
Caelen waved back at them but when he turned around, all traces of that warm smile were replaced with a sneer. "You are a horrible liar and stop holding my arm that tight! I am a loving breathing human just like you." Caelen tugged in his arm to try to free it but either Atlas was holding it too tight or Caelen wasn't that strong enough.
“You have got a lot of nerve saying that,” he hissed, obviously pissed off. He drug Calean farther into the garden, where guards were less likely to check. Once he was confident no one was near, he released his grip on his arm only to point a finger into the other’s chest. “Why must you always bring up how “weak” I am?” he spat, glaring up at him. “Don’t you think there’s a reason they put you in a room with me?”
"Comparing your body to mine made me realize that you were not trained in the same way I was. They way the maids recognized you, I assumed you had been here for so long that you were known by all. The way they stared at me with untrusting eyes made me think that if I simply said I was a friend, we would immediately be caught. The only thing that made sense was to say I was your trainer. But my apologies if my words made you feel bad." Caelen growled and turned away from the other male, walking to a nearby tree and peeling bits of bark away from it.
