"Good." Marcus affirms, reclaiming his spiked chain. He wraps it around his hand, avoiding the spikes on his side, before juking, and then punching a demon with the spikes on the other side.
It falls to the floor with a loud, grisly crack, dead. He grimaces, punching with his chain was a bit painful.
(Sorry I wasn't on, I have to go but I'll be on later tonight.)
"I'm doing, well, as good as I can be." Ridslee called out, her blade going through one of the heads on this demon. It didn't appreciate the stab to the head. Swinging its feathered like alligator tail around her knocking Ridslee to the ground. A loud smack was heard from her head hitting the ground. "Well, fuc-" It's high pitched screech made her cover her ears. This was one of the most annoying demons she has been up against. "I lost my weapon!" She called hoping someone could give her a hand. The weapon was loaded in the head of the thing. It screeched again and she got a whiff of the breath. And it was God awful, so held herself back from wanting to throw up. Staggering back she felt the ground for anything she could use right now to kill the thing. "I-I really need some help here!"
Axel sent a wisp of dark magic to assist her
"Sure thing, sister." Marcus said, from behind the demon, getting the chain around it's neck, choking it. It squirmed like holy Hell, cutting itself on the spiked blades of his chain til' it died, he offered Ridslee a hsnd.
"Thank you." She looked over at Axel "Both of you." Her hand landed in his as she stood tonher feet. Ridslee started to climb the Demon to her weapon. It was gross and sticky, and they always smelled awful. His skin was almost like glue, it was hard to move, but when she did more gooey crap got on her. "Ew." She forced here eyes to stay on her weapon and not look down at the grossness she was climbing through. "Got it." As soon as her fingers wrapped around the handle of Lili (Her weapon.) She felt so much better.
“So what’s next” axel asked coming over to them
Marcus counted them over in his head.
"Fifteen confirmed kills." He said, snapping pictures of all the dead demons. "And two human casualties." He added.
"Let's go out the back and let the officials deal with the press." He called, voice echoing through the parking garage as he walked out, to the van.
"Load up everyone, we're going back to HQ." Marcus mused grimacing. Paperwork was gonna be Hell. He opened the sliding door of the van, climbing in the back, and nodding at their driver, Thorson.
Halo watches the gate, "Sounds good to me." He mutters, his eyes narrowed as he walks back with the other. He climbs into the van and shakes his head as he watches Glitch disappear from sight. He leans on a hand and watches the others.
"What are you guys gonna do when you get back?" Marcus asked everyone, waiting on them.
Halo shrugs, "Probably train. There's a lot of things I need to catch up on." he sighs and shakes his head as he shuts his eyes.
"Sounds like fun." Marcus said. He too was going to train well tonight.
"I'm definitely going to take a shower." Ridslee was praying the smell would come off in one shower. After that she wasn't sure, maybe sharpen Lili.
"Ain't the water pressure there just heaven." Marcus said.
"Yeah." She looked at her sticky body and felt like throwing up again. "How come I'm the only one who ends up like this every time we go out?" Ridslee was the only girl in her group, she didn't hate it, in fact she liked it. The other girls didn't seem to like her for some reason.
"Well because I'm a badass." Marcus said, cleaning his chain. "I could probably go for a second Role slot if I wanted to!"
Ridslee face turned to disgust. "You should be to full of yourself." Someone needs to knock him down a peg. "They're plenty of people who could kick your ass." Marcus was good, but there was no need to be that full of himself.
"I'm not joking." Marcus affirmed, seriously. "I'm not the best, yeah, but I've almost reached the level of "Iron Chain Paladin", and am thus almost qualified to take up a lesser Role." He said.
"You're right." She grinned. "Shall I share some of my victory goo with you?" She held her arms out ready to embrace him. But seriously why di I always end up like this? Do demons just hate girls more? It felt like it was taking longer to get home then to get to where they were.
Halo sighed, "You two done flirting with each other?" he asks, glancing towards them, an unamused expression on his face.
"What?" Ridslee pulled her arms back in. "We are not flirting" Ridslee gave Halo a glare. There was no time for that anyway, and who's going to flirt with someone covered in gross demon goo? Now it's going to be awkward, for her at least.
Halo grunts and rolls his eyes. "Whatever." He looks outside, shaking his head.
Marcus chuckles. "In all seriousness, you should probably cover yourself." He replies. "We can't have people wondering." He finishes, grabbing an extra coat off the rack. It was two sizes two large, but that was a good thing. The AHE logo was printed on it.
"Thank you." Pulling the coat over her, she smiled. Ridslee looked like a child in that jacket because of how small she was. "That was a lot demons today."
"Yeah, the rate of Veil Breaks is increasing steadily." Marcus said, taking out and cleaning the blade and chain parts of his three-section-scythe.
