"Are you ok?"
"Are you ok?"
"Same as always."
"And that is?"
"What do you think?"
"Angry? Vain?" Mira guessed
"No, not really. Want, a want for a friend, and you know Alic? Well, he always ruins my chances.
"How?" Mira asked
(Sorry, I left for a while… haha it looked like things got pretty intense!)
Alec just stood there for a while after the girl named Sassy asked that question (what his powers were). It seemed to echo around his head. "Powers," a voice seemed to whisper, "Powers, powers, powers…" But he didn't have any powers. So he didn't answer. Then, of course, she ran out and there were some skeletons and a branch that flew through the window at some point. But he took no notice. Then he left.
Before Alec left, Emme had looked up from her book again. Mira was gone from the class, only Alec was still there. She tried to read his mind again. It wasn't working. I've never had trouble reading peoples minds before she thought. She tried her hardest, when she suddenly heard one whispered word repeated again and again. "Powers" it had said. This was what Emme was thinking about when she went to pick up her clarinet and started to play 'Danse des Cygnes'.
"Well… he always comes when I start to know someone and interrupts all the time."
"Im sorry. Ill be your friend… If you want"
"Thanks, but no need!"
"You dont want a friend?" Mira asked in amazement
"No, I do, just not this way, I wanna earn there trust and love without backstory or force."
"Just a 'hi nice to meet you im blah blah blah. whats your name? do ya wanna be frineds?' Kinda friend?"
"Ya!"
"I get where your coming from" Mira said "Ive got a question"
"
"What is it?"
"What are the extents of your shape shifting? what can you turn into?"
"anything."
"including like a fire breathing dragon? or a tiny ant?"
"Yep, anything"
Alec was outside the front doors of the school before he realized he didn't know where to go. He decided to walk around the school, sure that if he arrived home before lunchtime his mother would have a fit. But just as he turned around the corner of the building, he heard voices. Acting quickly, he pressed his back against the rough brick wall and listened.
"Huh. Can you show me?"
