She noticed how uncomfortable Amara was getting and sighed. "it's whatever, nevermind that I guess." She didn't want to force Amara into anything. "I know there's stuff to you, but you seem uncomfortable. You don't have to talk about it now" she gripped the steering wheel.
Amara trued to loosen her fears and took a deep breath, "No, It's okay…It's only fair that I too shared a few things about me. Granted all of you have shown your trust."
"if you want too." She sighed keeping her eyes in the road. "No one's going to force you though."
Amara took another deep breath, eventually smiling again weakly, "I was born human. Which makes me a Chosen, one who is granted elements instead of being born with them. I grew up in a moderate home, I guess. I went to school, did all my homework, a little well known and liked. But I never actually fit in no matter how popular I was, never understood modern things. Like your coffee request this morning. I was fifteen when my abilities started showing and everything changed. My family was ashamed of me, my friends were either jealous or afraid. However I always helped them, whether they asked or not. I became the Guardian."
"I could definitely imagine you being popular, but I don't understand how you don't understand modern things I mean your probably older then me but like you still probably grew up with modern things right??" She kept her hands on the steering wheel only looking at Amara once. "I guess I have always been an elemental, like I was born one I guess."
"As I grew up in a modern home, my parents never let me have toys, technology, or anything," Amara unexpectedly opened up faster than she thought, "It was too much of a distraction. My family wanted that perfect little girl. I guess I showed them."
"well then i guess it's good that they got you and not me eh? They would have a much better time finding the perfect girl in you." She laughed a little. "no one's perfect but your pretty close Amara."
"Far from it," Amara chuckles, "Anyways, I started to have nightmares soon after my abilities were discovered. Someone with purple eyes always called out to me and only said one thing: "come to the shadows". It always freaks me out."
She gripped the steering wheel hearing about amaras nightmares. "It would creep a lot of people out no doubt…" She debated on telling Amara about something to do with purple eyes. She sighed.
"So you hear voices too sometimes?" asked Marlin "I guess that's a good thing, I didn't want to be the only one."
"Yes it would. But then when he showed up at my house two weeks later, it was horrific." Amara looks down and acts as if she relived it over and over, "You…uh….already met him, actually"
"I figured as much…I met him in the forest…" She gripped the steering wheel. "I actually talked with him for a bit till ini made him vanish." She sighed. "I hear voices yeah, But it's mostly you guys, your voices. I guess I can hear the voices of any elemental whether I want to or not. Usually around this time of day it would only be faint whispers but since it's darkened I can hear loud and clear what they say."
"I can only hear voices if I put my head underwater," said Marlin stuffing his hands in his pockets and looking out the window, "And if I close my eyes I can see faces."
"faces?" She looked in the rear view mirror at Marlin. "can you breathe under water?"
"Mmmhm." he leaned his head against the window, "I don't like to, especially if it's salt water because then I have salt in my lungs and that feels weird."
"breathing under water sounds awesome." May or may not be nerd alert cough cough. "You said you saw faces?"
"Yeah, it's pretty creepy, I can't remember what they look like, but I remember them if that makes sense?" he shrugged, "I used to think they were ghosts, but it seems like they're probably Shadows or something."
"either shadows or other people with elements inside of them." She shrugged.
"Shadows weren't physical before the seal cracked," Amara looked at the two, "They were like ghosts…like shadows."
"Right, before the seal cracked, so now they're physical and can kill us."
Amara looks down and turns towards the road, putting her arm around her left shoulder, "Yeah…"
Ignis and Arcanis are at each other's throat, their eyes reflecting their abilities, Arcanis smiles, "I can see that little devil grow." Ignis depowers and offers his hand, "Fighting is no longer an option. I'll do it."
"We should be to the museim soon." she piped in to the conversation. "Think about it this way, now its easier for us to kill them." she gripped the steering well. i hope you know what your doing ignis…
Arcanis closely observed Ignis, "Willing so easily? I sensed no true conviction in your voice." Ignis smiles, "It is true. I will join the Shadows…"
Amara smiles as she sees the museum, "There it is! Last time the stone was here, news say it was bought by a local man who lived in the city."
(Am i allowed to kali spill or just have her be really pissed about it-)
