It's optional to attend, but it's basically just an " Assembly" or "meeting" or whatever…

"Before we proceed, are there any questions?" MacLeod asks, looking around…

"Yes, is the class element specific?" Neriah asked, raising her hand.

(Class hasn't begun, this is a pre-schedule assembly…)
"Everyone gets a class to attend for their designated element, and, if you choose Diversity as your elective, you get to learn about all of them together." MacLeod said. "For instance, I'll see anyone designated under 'Darkness', in class today!" The man finished. "Anyone else?"

"How rare is each element type?" Katy lazily raised her hand.

"As you can see… By… This chart…" MacLeod said, pulling down a large chart behind himself. "Fire, water, eath, and air, all make up about the bulk of the population, with those who use light, and darkness, being a bit rarer, and with soul, being even rarer, though not as rare as you'd think…" He said.

Zoe watched with great interest since she never knew about any of this before. She patiently raised her hand. " How strong with each element?"

London listened silently.

"No element is inherently stronger than any other element… It all depends on how well it is used, and how well you're willing to push yourself to perfect it… Even fire and water are balanced…." He paused … "People usually think that water trumps fire, but really, it all depends on whether there's more water than fire… If there isn't… Well, you're screwed, but if there is… You're great…" Another pause. "And if they're equal, you get this…" He and the other teacher stood back, as two people stepped out, they readied themselves, one shot a burst of fire, and the other sprayed an arc of water… The room exploded into steam. The water had gone, and the fire with it.
He clapped, encouraging everyone, as the roof opened up to let the steam escape.

" What about Darkness and light?" Zoe added. This was definitely getting more interesting

London had leaned forward some, squinting with intruigue.

"The same can be said for those two…" MacLeod said.
"You ready, Mrs. Magdalene?"
"You know it MacLeod."
The teachers locked hands, their powers cancelling each other out, their skin tore, and healed, and tore, and healed sgsin, before they let go. Back to normal.I
"Balance, kids. It's about balance."

" Is there a way to overcome each element although?" She asked eagerly

"Of course there is!" The teachers said in unison.
"Studying, training, and good old fashioned strategy." He said. "No element gives you more ability or raw power than any other. "

London tapped his chin thoughtfully.

"Is there any way to nullify the effects of an element." Neriah asked as she opened her note book to write down some of the things she was saying.

"Will we ever spar against each other including teachers?" Katy asked about the only topic she was really interested in.

(Hah I'm really bad at writing, even if it is my passion. I think I know what you mean by open-ended though)
