(Yeah, should we write a bit since we haven’t for a while?)
(sure)
(Mind if I introduce a race of people?)
(by all means please do, sounds cool ^^)
Tanrial turned back to the others, “Apart from the usual demons there is a… race, Evyns they’re called,” Tanrial took a breath in, as if talking about them was hard, “They mainly look human but have tails and they’re ears are hooked at the top. The high born sometimes have wings.”
"Ah." Bernon scratched his head. "I don't think I've ever heard of them. Are they….not friendly?"
“Some are but recently they haven’t been as…kind. Their law system is weird. They have the five houses: Corro, Mattolly, Sirra, Pycral and Lantan then the King. Whatever the King wants, the houses follow, no matter if they disagree.”
"Okay. That doesn't sound good. Would a guy like me have to worry about them, if I was just passing through?"
She shrugged, “Depends. Their territory expands most of this area, well, on the other side of the mountains. If you pass through Corro or Sirra, you won’t have to worry to much, the others, definitely. Pycral especially.”
"And what about you? Do you live in one of these, uh, territories? Does the town?"
Tanrial shook her head, “The town, god no. They don’t know they exist. I umm-“ She stopped herself, “Doesn’t matter.”
"Okie dokie. Well, I've had pretty good luck making friends with hostile strangers in the past. I'll just have to hope for the best."
(btw, I s'pose he could miscalculate and get hurt by an Evyn, and then he'd have to backtrack and ask Tanrial for help? Just so they stay together)
(Yeah, do you want to do that now or not?)
“Well, good luck I guess. Try not to run into any of the higher born, they will kill you with a snap of their fingers.” She gave a smug grin.
(he could start out but then get attacked and maybe she saves him because she heard the commotion?)
"Haha, I'll try to avoid dying, yeah," Bernon laughed. "Thanks for the heads up." Turning, he set off down the hill towards the open ground. "Nice meeting you, Tanrial and Wendla!"
(Okie)
“See ya!” Tanrial called back.
Bernon followed the creek as it wound through the low ground, keeping an eye out for signs of life but not feeling too concerned. The sky was clear and there was a refreshing breeze from the east. Birds were singing, leaves were coming out on the willow trees, and altogether it was a lovely day. Bernon cheerfully whistled a tune as he walked.
(Gotta go, I’ll try to be on later but if not the I’ll cya tomorrow!)
(Okay, seeya! ^^)
(I’m back!)
(heyyy ^^)
From the tree tops, Thranion knocked an arrow into his bow and took aim. This..human was passing through his houses territory without permission, the punishment…death. He shot but missed the heart, hitting his shoulder instead.
Bernon staggered, the pain from the arrow jabbing into his lungs. He whipped around, trying to spot the archer who'd attacked him. "Wait," he cried. "Don't shoot! What do you want?"
Thranion jumped down from the tree, he was much taller then Bernon even from a few feet away. “You’re passing through Pycral’s territory without permission from our leader. I’m just border patrol.” His voice was deep and laced with confidence.
Bernon held up his hands, wincing as he bumped the arrow in his shoulder. "I'm sorry. I didn't know I was trespassing. Could you, uh, maybe point me toward the edge of your lands so I can leave you in peace? I'm just a wanderer, I promise I mean you and your people no harm."
“That’s not how it works, mate. You trespass, you die, simple as that.” He took arm at Bernon again, this time aiming for the heart.
