Cyrus walked down the hall, occasionally glancing back at Shade. Eventually, he reached the library steps on campus where he sat down, long legs stretched out. He turned on the digital camera, leaning over to show her the first photo. It was of the group of superhero’s at the dock.
"Woah," Shade looked at it. Cyrus must have been there last night, "Where did you take this?"
“I was.. taking a late night run down by the docks, and I heard some commotion. I conveniently had my camera, so I found a good spot and took a few photos,” Cyrus explained, going to the next. It was a zoomed in photo now, pointing at a few of their masked faces.
Shade nodded, no photos of her yet. Good. She responded, "You got really lucky. Manage to overhear any conversations?"
“A bit, Yeah. They were beating the hell out of some guy. I don’t think I want to try and pronounce his name,” Cyrus said as he flicked to another. It was of White Out and Code Breaker.
Shade tried not to react, "Was it the same guy that got kidnapped earlier?"
“I think. I heard about it on the news,” Cyrus lied, flicking to the next photo, this one a closeup of Blood Lust’s face. “It’s weird. He looks familiar.”
Shade looked close at Felix in disguise, "I can't see any similarities."
Cyrus frowned softly and arched a brow. “Similarities to what?”
"To anyone I know," Shade responded. Quick to cover up her mistake, "Maybe it's someone only you know."
Cyrus’ red eyes narrowed softly in slight suspicion but he noddde anyways. “Yeah, probably,” he said. Those were all the photos he had, so he shut the camera off and tucked it into the pocket of his jacket.
Shade looked at Cyrus, "Those were pretty insane. You must've been really lucky last night."
“They did seem to notice me, but I don’t think they saw that it was actually me,” Cyrus explained.
""Huh," Shade said, "What are you planning to do with those?"
“Not sure yet. Maybe upload them online or something,” Cyrus said wth a shrug.
Blaine walked back to the kitchen as Cyrus and Shade left, finally pouring herself a bowl of cereal. She ate quickly and got ready to go to class. If she skipped one more Bio class, she'd be way far behind.
"You should make a super hero blog," Shade suggested, "Or contribute to one of the already made ones."
(Ay Welcome back man lol)
Cyrus arched a brow. “Superhero’s were never really my thing. Sure the ones in comics are fun to read and hear about, but these heroes and villains are real. They hurt people,” he explained. “If I had to choose between the two, I would be a loner who did my own thing.”
(yeah Jack Peters in class so yeah haha)
(Hello!)
Shade nodded, "Maybe they chose a side for a reason. Also they're human, they make mistakes, they hold grudges, they're not perfect."
Shade sighed. Remembering when she and Shadow had first discovered their powers. Both children wanted to be heroes. Oh how the world changed for them.
As she walked to her class, Blaine passed Shade and Cyrus sitting on the steps to the library. She saw the camera they were looking at but thought nothing of it as she greeted them.
"'Sup, guys," she said as she walked past them, not expecting a response.
Shade heard Blaine and was shaken out of her thoughts, "Oh hi Blaine."
“Yeah, well both sides are completely insane to me, both hero’s and villains,” Cyrus said with a shrug. Shade was very persistent. He heard a familiar voice and looked over to see Blaine, giving a wave.
