"I don't find sarcasm very appeasing coming from you" she sighed, flicking his arm playfully

"Apologies M'lady," He smirked, "I hadn't realised that her majesty was so adverse to the subtle humour of sarcasm, however now that I have knowledge of her discontent I shall advert from using it at all, except I won't." He continued strolling through Amazon.

Chloe leaned over his lap and pressed the 'exit all' button, "Sir" she giggled, sitting back and rolling her eyes playfully

He turned to her, eyes wide with betrayal, mouth opened with shock, "Rude," He said simply, turning back to his laptop and trying to open everything he had open.

"Me? Rude? Never" she replied, taking a sip from her water

"And if you are going to re-open the tabs use the short cut!" she replied, leaning over his lap again and pressing a few buttons to open his tabs again

"Thank you, but I wouldn't need your help if someone, who will remain nameless, didn't close them, to begin with," He playfully nudged her, "wonder who that nameless person could be."

"Oh my od I wonder how we'll figure this out" she replied, rolling her eyes

"Truly a mystery," He said, taking a sip, looking at Chloe from over the glass.

Chloe smirked and went back to reading and soon got up to go cook dinner. "What do you want to eat tonight?"

"Something edible, what you thinking?" Xanthus said, not looking up from his laptop.

"I'm thinking cauliflower pizza" she replied, "Or potebello mushroom burgers, since we just got that new grill"

"I said edible," He said, clearly not thrilled with the options, "But the burgers do sound more like human food."

"Everything is human food" she replied, re-filling her cup

"I'd like to see you go out and eat plastic or the sun." He said, getting up and walking to the kitchen with his glass in hand.

"Shut up" she replied sheepishly. He appeared close behind her, his breath hitting her neck and she blushed

"Or what?" He said, smirking, not moving an inch, "You'll force me to eat cauliflower pizza? That is a fate worse than death."

"Exactly"she replied, her face becoming hotter

Xanthus raised an eyebrow, "Sure," and he paused for a moment. Only now noticing how close they were, he could feel the heat from her body. His face grew hot and he glanced at her lips for a moment before returning his stare to her eyes.

"Well, I-I need to make it if you want to eat…" she studdered, watching his gaze slip from her eyes to her lips and back up again

He blinked a few times, seeming to wake up from a trance before stepping back, "Of course, do you want any help with it?"
