(I guess I could. Fair warning that I'm an insomniac and that my response times get wonky. I also don't get on every single day because of family functions, I'm enjoying the weather, or I'm unconscious…. Some responses would also likely be on the shorter side since my brain doesn't like to cooperate at times.)
(If you don't want to then that's fine! I was just asking since I knew you were here. I'll just open it back up again.)
(I'm ready to start whenever)
(Okay great! We just need one more person to join and we can start.)
(I'm excited for this rp!)
(What character is left?)
(Private investigator I think?)
(Yep, private investigator is the last one.)
(I am, intrigued. It's the private investigator that's still open, right?)
(Awesome and yes it still is!)
(Alright sweet! Just send in your character then we'll start)
Name: Alex Woods
Role: Private investigator
Age: 27
Gender: genderfluid
Sexuality: bisexual
Physical appearance: They stand at the height of 6'6, being a bit more on the muscular side. Not by much though. They have vitiligo, with their natural skin tone being a medium brown. They have brown eyes and black hair, though their hair is usually shaved. Their body shape is more triangular, with a more heart-like face shape.
Apparel: For everyday clothing it's usually t-shirts, jeans, baggy clothes, stuff like that. When they're on the job they try to dress more formally, meaning they wear button up shirts and black jeans. And, they know it's stereotypical, but they wear a trench coat sometimes.
Personality: They're usually very blunt and to the point, not wanting to waste any time when they could be doing something more important like working on a case. They very much have a resting bitch face. If they do like you enough though, they can actually be quite nice to talk to, but that's only when they're not busy. Other than that it's kinda like talking to a brick wall unless you say something that catches them off-guard.
Background: Ever since they were little they loved the idea of being a detective. They loved watching true crime shows, reading mystery novels, they always tried to solve the mystery before it was revealed what the answer was. They were very enthusiastic, and very excited when they got the job. They worked with the police force for about 5 years before the sudden loss of their best friend, Rosemarie Jones. This broke their heart, and they were unable to return to work knowing that Rose wouldn't be there. They stopped working for a bit before deciding to start their own agency, most commonly taking missing persons cases. They worked very hard to get where they are, and want to make sure that nobody suffers in not knowing what happened to their loved one.
Other: They love baking, and they also own a Rosy Boa as a pet. They love their pet very dearly, with part of it being that the name Rosy Boa reminds them of Rosemarie.
(Yeah it looks like you're all good! If everyone else still wants to do this then I'll get a starter up later in the day.)
(Cool! I hope everyone else hasn't forgotten about this lol-)
(Lol I hope so too, but I'll just wait and see. Sorry for the delay as well)
Just a quarter till five, and the sky was gradually growing darker and darker as time went on. Nicholas strolled along the sidewalk with his phone in his hand. It was flipped opened reading a message from a private investigator that the Abbeys must have hired to help find their daughter. The message was oddly lengthy to him, explaining that the investigator wanted to meet with him, along with others, in order to help them begin to conduct their investigation. Below it, there was an address to a restaurant downtown on the corner of Ciobanu Street, which he was on his way to. As he walked his way there, his mind began to drift back to what had occurred that day.
Everything had happened so swiftly right before his eyes, and yet he still felt stuck in that point of time, yet everything that happened after it is nothing but a faint blur. None of it made sense to him, none at all. When he had first went over to the Abbeys' home, he did not see anything demonic with the girl; he had only seen her as severely ill and suggested to Misses Abbey to take her to a doctor. Only a few days after, he was called back and kept coming over every few days or so. His mind constantly went back to the moment he saw Rosemarie's eyes turn black before he was magically thrown back against the wall. He could still hear the thud when his back made contact with the wall; his shoulder still hurts thanks to a terrible bruise he got from that. The sight of the demon overtaking Rosemarie, smirking back at him flashed in his mind. Even walking outside in the cold, thinking about it gave him a chill.
Strange…it was all so strange to him. In past cases, he was able to find them and excommunicate the damned spirits. And in the ones where it was not so obvious, he still was able to get them in the end. He was not sure what was going on this time, the fact made him frustrated. A sigh left his lips as he shook his head in thought. Deep down Nicholas is worried about the situation, but he was not really hopeful in a investigator being able to catch a demon possessing a young woman. His faith in the idea was low.
As he approached the restaurant, a cacophony of crows rang in his ears. Glancing up, he noticed how some flocked, standing on the roofs around the buildings nearby. Some even landed on the ground close to him. His shoulders tensed up, but he forced them to relax as he turned his head to look straight at the restaurant. Nicholas closed his phone then put it in his jacket before opening the door and stepping inside.
Dimitri sat alone in his apartment, reading over the letter he'd received. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't fathom who'd possibly sent it. He knew the family. Not well, but he certainly knew of them. Everyone around here did. And the fact that the daughter was supposedly possessed or whatever bullshit- well, that had reached his ears too.
Dimitri always carefully picked his jobs. After all, he had to make sure he didn't go into anything that might be a trap, and that he would be able to prepare himself properly, be in the right place at the right time, and cover his tracks. As unusual as it was for him to accept a contract from an anonymous individual, he was heavily considering this one. The price was definitely right, but not too good to be true. Maybe he'd be able to take a break for a while after this one.
Finally, he set the letter down and moved around his home, gathering up supplies and thinking up the best strategy. He'd definitely have to be quiet, with their daughter home and all. He didn't want to have to commit a third murder if he didn't have to, and being bed-ridden, sick, "possessed," or whatever it was, she would almost certainly be home.
Dimitri would strike after dark.
In the meantime, he gathered up a few knives and dressed plainly, in shoes a few sizes too big so he'd be harder to track, and otherwise prepared for his job.
When he reached the house, a couple of hours past midnight, he carefully examined the area from a distance just to be sure it wasn't a trap. Everything was empty and quiet. There was no sign of anyone awake, and no sign of the daughter either, so that was at least one obstacle out of his way. Regardless, Dimitri was careful.
He scaled up the trellis that led to a hallway window, feeling lucky as ever that despite being embarrassingly small, that at least meant he was light and could go places many others couldn't. Once to the top, he slowly worked to pry the window open so that he wouldn't make too much noise.
Dimitri slipped through the window and stepped down inside. After some investigation, he crept towards what he determined to be the couple's room, and he listened closely to make sure no one was awake. After he was pretty certain, he pushed open the door and started towards the bed, pulling out a knife.
I'll make this as quick and painless as possible. Sorry it has to be this way.
With that, he first slit the man's throat with the knife, and then did the same to his wife. It was about as clean and easy as murders got. He could hear a soft few gasps of their ending lives, but they didn't fight much.
Dimitri walked to the bathroom to make sure he was clean of blood in any places that might leave traces when he left. And he left the crime scene the same way he came.
Once at home, Dimitri started drafting up a letter for whoever had requested this murder, but he was still at a loss as to where he should send it.
(Wait the time line here is confusing- knight said it was a quarter to five (I'm assuming pm) but then bec said a few hours after midnight?? What's going on-)
(It's not necessarily all going on at the same time, is it? Just the same day, I figured, since they haven't met up yet. And if it doesn't work out, my bit can take place before (like a day or two prior) I think this is more or less introducing our characters and what's going on with them before they meet up.)
(Ah, makes sense. So your response would take place hours before Knights, but on the same day, I'm guessing?)
