So obviously we want Demitri and Carden, as per your request, and some Fenris. Kiriti'll probably be showing up quite a bit to do healing and whatnot. You know personality for the most part so that's gonna get skipped. Plus I have a hard time describing them at this point.

@croccin-champagne

!!! do you want a temp for my children involved(it's mainly catori and kasper, who's functioning as moral support since he's the only one catori couldn't push away for their safety)?

@croccin-champagne

Name: Catori Soua

Age: Sixteen, maybe almost seventeen I still haven't picked a birthday

Gender: Female

Appearance: Black curly hair, darker tanned skin, and curvy. Lot of scars from the kidnapping, but the one right over her heart and the same spot but on her back stand out. Only when she wears something that shows them, though, because she's…having some issues coming to terms with that. 5'. Rounded-ish almond eyes, light brown. They glow honey brown in the sun, and reflect light at night. A date tattooed on her left forearm, near her wrist, and underneath it the words "You deserve to live. Live for me. The way I can't."

Abilities: Originally she could only see and slightly strengthen ghosts, but now she's somewhat of a necromancer. Unfortunately, she can also effect the living with what she calls a death touch, and now she refuses to touch anyone at all.

"Find that disruption," Cinthia's voice spoke into their ears, the silver pieces hidden and pressed close to their skin behind the shell of their ears. They all traveled silently through the shadows, guided by Demitri and Carden. "Jamir, you're in charge, with Magnus being second. Don't royally screw this up." Snickers echoed through the area, and then the footprints split, heading in two different directions. Half went to find a safe house and scout the area, and half went to find the source of the disruption that Cinthia had been alarmed by. Demitri and Fenris led the charge, recognizing the aura being emitted.

Death.

"Carden, Demitri, with me," Fenris said lowly, in hound form, and trotted away from the group. A man covered head to toe in black cloth followed after, and a moving shadow trailed closely behind. A little white kitsune scurried under the hellhound's belly, easily keeping pace. It was a given that those two would stick together unless told otherwise. The rest of the group crouched in the bushes, awaiting the call from the small "invisible" group. They would be the backup if needed.

Fenris, Kiriti, Carden, and Demitri slowly approached the clearing, weaving through thick trees. They were outside of a strange town, where the other half of the group had gone, and didn't want to arouse attention to themselves, so they stayed hidden in the shadows, Fenris unnaturally quiet despite his large size, Kiriti hidden by her illusions, Demitri a living shadow, and Carden drenched in darkness.

The tang of death settled upon their tongues. They were near.

@croccin-champagne

If death enveloped the clearing, the strongest source of it was clear. And funny enough, it wasn't the cluster of translucent people flooding the clearing that gave that feeling off. They were only part of it.

The source was the girl in the middle of the clearing.

Stood back to back in the center of the clearing, with a boy who's hair looked like a rainbow right after a storm, was a girl with dark hair and an air of something horribly powerful and entirely uncontrolled about her. The two were an inch or two apart, something only really noticed up close. But it was a strange thing to note.

The two moved in a slow circle, the girl's eyes flickering from each ghost as though she could see what wasn't supposed to be there. The boy, however, was squinting like the sun had a vendetta against him.

"Catori? What the fuck are you-"

"It's not me." The girl—Catori—said, cutting the boy off as she wiped at her upper lip, the dark liquid just smearing across her face. The nosebleeds were supposed to be gone. But after the ritual night, things had been different. And this was worse, the number of spirits and her volatile energy clashing with their abnormal auras causing a mess in her head. She had controlled them that night, so why couldn't she now? She had brought bodies up from the soil, and now she couldn't even banish a spirit. "It's something else."

It took more effort than it should have, but Catori managed to calm the panic in her mind—the panic that never showed on her face—enough to find the power running through her. It was a cold sort of heat, freezing and scalding at the same time. But she knew her power. Even if it felt different, even if the flames lapped at the arms in her mind, she knew it. And she knew how to use it.

Suddenly, the ghosts in the clearing were visible to anyone looking on. And that was all she could seem to do. You're going to get him killed. Your friend, your best friend's boyfriend, is going to die because you can't perform a banishing.

@ElderGod-kirky group

The ones that could do nothing didn't need to be told to stay back—they already knew that this wasn't their area of expertise and would only get in the way of those that could do something. Kiriti hunkered low, ears flattened over her head and partially over her back as she wound a tight illusion around her small frame, shielding her from sight, sound, and smell. Carden crouched behind her, his eyes bright compared to the dark garb covering him.

Hellhound and half-breed demon entered the clearing at the same time without so much as a signal. Fenris' head was low, lips bared in a low and threatening growl as he stared down the ghosts. Something felt off with them, he could feel it. Dark grey hellfire sprouted over his body, coating his neck like a mane, trailing down his spine, and engulfing his tail and large paws, scorching the earth. His eyes were hidden behind similar flames, the fire over his blind eye slightly dimmer.

Demitri narrowed his dark eyes at the ghosts, coming up on the other side of them than Fenris. He slid his hands into his pockets, head tilted up and slightly to the side contemplatively as he gazed at the spirits—almost looking down on them with the way he was looking at them. Not my father's aura. Strange. Still, spirits are still spirits, no matter whose control they are under. He flicked his eyes over at Fenris, one brow moving upwards in a barely noticeable twitch.

The hellhound needed no further prompting. He snarled and lunged towards the nearest ghost, just barely missing it as he snapped his jaws in warning. "Back to the Underworld," Demitri commanded, one hand slipping out of his pocket and hanging at his side, working his magic with perfect subtlety. "Now, before I destroy you permanently." Fenris growled in emphasis of Demitri's statement, also threatening to have a hand in their demise.

@croccin-champagne

While some of the spirits did as told, others didn't seem to care at all. There were murmurs around the spirits that didn't leave, others laughing at Demetri's orders. The aura around them, a dark purple-grey, flickered somewhat at his presence, but otherwise held stronger than it should have been able to. "You don't control us, boy!" One voice shouted, making Kasper—who was watching the newcomers with a weirdly unconcerned expression—yelp.

"Make it to the edge." Catori muttered, her eyes not on the strange people who had showed up at a weirdly convenient time, but on the spirits around her. She handed her friend the bat in her hand, slipping a crooked crowbar from the belt loop of her shorts as she gestured to the edge of the clearing. "Swing wildly until I can make 'em show. If anything touches you, hit it with that. Anything. Get the squirtguns."

She didn't know where these people—and the huge ass dog—had come from, but she wasn't about to let that get in the way of her dealing with a problem she was pretty sure she had something to do with. So she did what she did best. Started a fight.

Her first swing of the crowbar was quick, wild, and weirdly skillfully calculated for someone wielding a crooked hunk of metal. And as soon as it connected with the ghost, sending the spectral being into a cloud of mist-like substance that dissipated quickly, Kasper was off, leaving her to use the surprise she had to her advantage. Mister ghost talker over there did me a solid, at least. "Are you sure he doesn't? 'cause I don't see any of you moving!"

@ElderGod-kirky group

Demitri narrowed his eyes at the lack of compliance among the spirits, but was otherwise unbothered by it. He flicked his fingers at Fenris, and the Hellhound had no qualms with lunging at the nearest group of spirits and snapping his jaws at them, splitting them in half with hardly any effort. Demitri held his hands out, black eyes darkening impossibly as he searched for lost bones and corpses within miles of his presence. He only sought out ones that weren't under any influence, free to be subject to his whims as the dead assassin lept around the clearing, tearing spirits apart with vicious growls and flickering helfire coating his body.

Kiriti let out a distressed whine when she saw the Prince of Death losing his grasp on his very subjects. Carden glanced over and scooped up the small fox into his arms, hugging her tight to his chest for comfort. While she couldn't directly help them out, she offered something from a distance. Little flowers of her own design sprouted in the clearing, designed to mimic the healing circles that Jamir could summon. Along with those, nature-based weapons grew from the earth, ready to be used against the spirits. Carden couldn't only watch and wait.
