A mouth stained with blood.
Four girls scattered throughout the streets of medieval Paris. Young women on the cusp of adulthood, some of them poor, some of them rich. Strangers to each other with nothing in common other than one, simple thing: They’re all being hunted.
Lips pulled back to reveal gleaming fangs.
A sisterhood of women labeled monsters by the rest of the world wage war with those who wronged them in their first life. ‘Vampires’, they call themselves. Once hunted, now hunters.
An inky black seeps over the woman’s eyes, leaving twin voids where there were once crystalline blue pools.
Immortal unless killed in battle, scalded by the sun; they are creatures of the night— but who’s to say if they are good or evil? They strive to convert women to their ranks, but not always out of malice. It’s kill or be killed; if they don’t feed on enough human blood, they’ll be dead within a week.
But you’re not sure if she’s a woman anymore…
The process in which a human is Turned is difficult to master. Juvenile vampires will often Turn victims by accident, when they had only been hoping to feed. Other times, an intended Turning ritual will end up a murder scene.
She snarls, takes a step towards you. Terrified, you stumble backwards— and suddenly her fingernails are digging into your neck and your back is pressed against a brick wall.
The society of vampires lives undetected by the public, rarely going out when the sun is still in the sky. But mistakes are always made… which is how rumours of a feral beast roaming the city formed. Citizens are now on high alert, governed more by fear than ever before.
You scream. She licks her lips, then your neck. No matter how hard you struggle, her grip is like iron. The last thing you have time to think before her fangs sink into your neck is ‘Goodbye..’
Vampiric history goes back a few centuries, but no one is certain where they originated. One thing is clear: There has only ever been one male Turned, and he is long dead.
The sisterhood has begun to stir, a new goal rising to become the first of their priorities: Kill the King. Usurp the monarchy. Right their wrongs.
It turns out, the historians were right when they labeled these times as ‘The Dark Ages’.
But it’s not goodbye at all.
Vampires and Their Abilities:
Vampires are nocturnal, creatures of the night. Even if their skin did not burn under harsh sunlight like paper held to a flame, they would still be drawn to the darkness, the moon, the cool breeze. As a result of these habits, their sight is much stronger than a human’s as to better allow them to hunt in the dark— however, their perception of colour is slightly muted, except of course, the colour red, which is more vivid than ever before. Their sense of hearing is also very acute, but neither can compare to their extraordinary sense of smell. An average vampire can smell the blood of a living being from a quarter mile away, and once they inhale the scent, the cravings that kick in are almost completely irresistible.
A vampire’s strength will wax and wane with the moon, but even during the new moon, their strength surpasses that of an average male. In addition to that, their is a popular but unconfirmed belief that the blood magick that spawned the first of these creatures originated from its fabled light.
The most significant of a vampire’s powers is that of creating other vampires through a process called ‘Turning’. It’s a tricky ritual to master, easily turning into murder, but in essence, a vampire will sink their canines into the human in question’s left cartoid artery and suck blood from it. In order for the human to be Turned, the blood must be drained from its body until only the bare minimum remains. Then, the vampire’s saliva must mingle with said blood. The process must happen at night, and is most likely to be successful under a full moon. After being Turned, the remaining blood will have to be sucked from the new vampire’s veins due to the fact that keeping the blood will result in slow, excruciating death, since vampires are bloodless creatures.
Besides Turning, vampires do practice other, minor blood magick, the most commonly used form being that of Binding. In this ritual, one vampire will be bound to another by blood. The relationship formed can either be Master to Slave, or simply a contract and binding to each other. The latter can be used in marriage.
Lastly, two vampires cannot produce offspring. A vampire and a human can, with much difficulty, but the child often dies young and is born deformed. The powers of this species are not hereditary, and the only visual differences between them and humans are more typically pale skin and huge fangs.
Additional Info:
Vampire lore and religion is centred largely around the moon, the origin of their strength. Of course, many vampires choose to follow the same religion as they did in their previous life, but the vast majority worship the moon and the night, who they believe to be a goddess. They call this entity either ‘Divine Mother’, ‘Goddess’, ‘the Moon’, or occasionally ‘Nyx’, and believe that she has similar powers to God. That being said, a few vampires are also atheists, and a small nation in Northern France worships the stars and constellations.
While a large part of the community still holds prejudice against other races and people who love differently because that’s how they were raised in their human lives, their Holy Book states that all vampires who are not considered traitors and have done no harm against anyone undeserving are equals no matter what they look like or who they love. Loving a human is frowned upon, but usually for the reason that a human’s knowledge of the society could put everyone in potential danger.
Marriages are always held under the full moon, strictly at night, and while they are usually an open event for the whole colony to attend if they wish, a private wedding can also be arranged by those with a higher status. Blood Bindings are not always used, but are considered more favourable than a non-magickal union.
As for hierarchy, the social standings of a colony are usually loose, with a Lower Class reserved for citizens who have committed sins or acts of shame, and new members who need to fight for a higher position. The Middle Class is for ordinary citizens, and within this Class there are denominations for each job (Defence, Advanced Hunter, Hunter, etc). The Higher Class is reserved for the leader, who is elected every six years (most societies work by democracy) and those who have earned a high honour through acts of valour.
This species resides mostly in France, with a few colonies dotted throughout Italy, Spain, and England.

Roles:
Girl #1: Lotus Flower
Girl #2: Moxie
Girl #3:
Vampire #1: me
Vampire #2: Eris
Vampire #3: WritingGale
Boy #1: Lex
A note: The ‘girl’ and ‘boy’ slots are for characters which are human, but being hunted by the vampires. The boy will be the only boy to be Turned in centuries.
A second note: The reason that there is no fourth girl is that although the original plan of the vampires was to recruit four girls, one accidentally died, and a boy was Turned by fluke instead.
A third note: Some of you might be required to play a second character if not enough people join.
