Alya laughed like a manic, holding her stomach. "Oh…my god, Violet…." She howled in laughter. The music went on without the two.
Alya laughed like a manic, holding her stomach. "Oh…my god, Violet…." She howled in laughter. The music went on without the two.
Violet smiled. She hadn't even remotely seen Alya there. "Alya!"
"Hi, girl…" She got up, still laughing so hard she might fall over again.
The song ended. Violet pushed herself up with a grin and was shaking her head. She put on the song that would be for her main routine - Out My Mind by Tritional featuring Riley Clemmons.
"Aw, yiss!" Alya cheered Violet on as she began to dance.
Violet had done this routine before countless time. The movements were just routine steps to her. Until she got to a part where the singing stopped for the most part except for an echo of Riley Clemmons' voice. Violet stepped and leaped into the air twisting and turning perfectly this way and that. But when she landed, she came down heavily on her right ankle and something snapped. The rest of her body hit the floor, knocking the wind out of her for only a few seconds. When she got her breath back, she gasped, the pain from her foot practically numbing her. No… No no no. I never get injured. I never get injured. I never get-
"VIOLET!" Alya screeched, running to her friend's side. "Are you okay?"
Violet was panting. She but her lip and tried not to cry. "I- I- I-"
"You need help." She dialed an ambulance and knelt by her friend. "You'll be okay, girl. Hang tight."
Violet groped for Alya's hand, and when she found it, she squeezed it tightly.
"They're almost here," She whispered reassuringly.
Jason ran over to Violet to see if she was ok.
"Jason…" Alya leaned over to whisper in his ear. "I think she broke her ankle."
"What!?" He whispered back, fear in his eyes. "What about her competition?"
"I don't know." Alya shook her head. "We can work that out later."
Violet grimaced and breathed heavily. Her first clear thought after a while was What will Dad think?
"Your dad…" Alya took a deep breath. "Your dad will find out later." She rushed outside to greet the ambulance.
Violet gripped the nearest thing her fingers could get- Jason's hand. It hurt. Lord it hurt bad.
"She broke her ankle. She needs pain meds, a casting, I don't know…" Alya told them as she followed them into the studio. They lifted Violet onto a stretcher.
"It's going to be okay, Violet." Justin reassured when she grabbed his hand.
The nurses took Violet into the ambulance, where Violet, Jason, and Nick bounded up with her.
Violet looked at Jason. He was really the only thing that wasn't a blur. "My dad…" she whispered, sounding more defeated than ever.
Justin smiled. "Don't worry about him… We'll figure something out…" Justin hope that she would be able to get better before she had to preform next.
Violet closed her eyes, but it didn't hide the fact that she was clearly crying.
"You could give your teammates good advice even if you can't dance with them," Alya suggested.
