@rot-baby-rot!
"Where else would I be?" He snarled. His body still felt like it was on fire and as if it would give out any second, but he wasn't in any danger of dying now. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Where else would I be?" He snarled. His body still felt like it was on fire and as if it would give out any second, but he wasn't in any danger of dying now. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"I saw a man kidnap you, and I couldn't just stand aside while that happened, so I followed him."
"Because heroes save the people that try to kill them on a daily basis? Yeah right. You helped them, didn't you? You told them who I was." Carter accused. He stumbled a bit, and leaned against a wall to steady himself. "It doesn't even matter. I need to find my brother. You could have killed him, you know."
What Carter was saying didn't completely make sense. He was rambling, and he hadn't moved from his position leaned against the wall. He looked like he was about to collapse again.
Mirage took a step forward. "Carter, you need to calm down. Take a deep breath. I didn't help anyone, or tell anyone who you are, and I most certainly didn't kill your brother."
"How am I supposed to trust you?" Carter asked, he stumbled again, and banged his head against the wall in frustration. It was always hard for him to function properly after waking up. "If you and your idiot friends hadn't stopped to annoy me I would be somewhere else, stopping a gang fight, pulling off a robery, just something other then being tortured."
"Your right. My friends can be jerks. We shouldn't have bugged you. I'm sorry. But this might of happened regardless."
Carter took a step backwards. The room was spinning, and he realized the the bullet was still inside him. His eyes flickered, and pain seared in his chest. He collapsed on the ground in front of her, his body not being able to properly heal.
Ferran waited where Mirage had left him, still in a crouched position. He shouldn't have picked on Alanna. He stood up. Determined to find her, he sneaked down the hall.
"Carter!" Mirage darted forward, but failed to catch him before he hit the ground.
He groaned as he hit the ground. "Bullet…" he muttered, before passing out again.
Alanna was peacefully resting on the ground. She would wake up in a few minutes since she hadn’t used up too much magic.
Mirage sat down next to him unsure what to do. She tazed the thug guy a couple of times for good measure. She glanced down at her fingers, an idea had come to mind. She had been honing her chain connection Intangibility for a while. Maybe if she could extract the bullet, it would help him heal. "Carter! Where's the bullet?"
Carter's eyes were closed, but he was still mumbling things. "Chest…." he muttered in response to Mirage's question "Leave….?" He asked, delirious.
"We can't leave yet Carter, the door's locked." She found the thug's gun and took a bullet from it. Examining it to get an idea of what was in Carter.
Mirage took a deep breath, closing her eyes. She extended a hand and passed through Carter. She could vaguely feel the shape of his ribcage and lungs. As she continued searching, she felt something out of place. As she touched it, it felt more solid to her. She smiled in relief. That was the bullet. Careful not to harm anything, she slowly withdrew her hand. She opened her eyes and saw she had the bullet.
Carter groaned again. "Don't do that.." he muttered. He opened his eyes, a tired expression on his face. His wounds were already starting to heal, and without the bullet still inside him it wasn't draining him as much. "Where am I?" He asked, trying to stay conscious.
"You're in a containment cell." Mirage gestured to the guy on the ground. "Do you know this guy?"
"He um," Carter said, sitting up. "He said he worked for my dad, and that he had taken me and my brother in an attempt for revenge. I don't think I've met him though. Michael might have, but he died three years ago, he can't be here."
(Michael is the brother btw)
(k)
Mirage nodded. "So." She said turning to Carter. "Seeing that I seem to have mastered chain connection Intangibility, should we try that to get out of here?"
"What?"
"Are you… are you even speaking English?"
"I pulled out that bullet by passing through your ribcage and I touched so that it would come out with me. If I concentrate enough, Both of us could waltz out this cell."
Carter stared at her like she was insane. "You were inside my body?" He shuddered. He scowled at her. "I can get out on my own." He said, glaring. "As soon as we step out, you could just arrest me. I'm not taking that risk, I'm finding Michael."
(Sorry, I gtg)
"Whoa, Carter, calm down. I'm not going to arrest you."
(okay, bye)
