Adderpaw flicked his ear, "W-well- I was just…I was gonna ask if you wanted to…um.." he looked at his paws. "to…..go to the…th-..uh, y'know the…" he closed his eyes, looking up he faced her. As soon as their eyes met her squeaked and spoke faster than a hare on the WindClan moor. "DOYOUWANNAGOTOTHEBALLWITHME-" he squeaked, sounding like a mouse. "I mean- uh" he looked back up, Shadowpaw was still staring at him. I messed up! quick! do something! Puffing his chest out her purred, his voice now weirdly deep. (Like, Damn. Adderpaw chill you're making things worse-) "do you wanna go to the ball with me~" he purred, winking. Shadowpaw stared at him with surprised (and maybe disgusted) eyes.

"Uh…" Shadowpaw stared at Adderpaw, not sure what to say. "I-I'm sorry, w-what?" She stuttered, "C-could you repeat that? I-it sounded like you a-asked me to go to the….w-with you." She paused, "In an extremely weird voice…"

Adderpaw squeaked as he sat back on his haunches, his tail had fluffed up and his fore-legs covered his face. "I d-did" he managed out, his voice no higher than the other talking around them. He had messed up. He really, badly, terribly messed. He wished the ground would open up and swallow him whole. Embarrassment was an total understatement. "W-Would go to the b-ball with…..me?" this time, no weird voice was involved. It was just him, or well, his very squeaky, nervous voice. He hated himself, he was known as the loud, proud and brave Adderpaw. Named after the famous leader Adderstar! Not this shy, complete wreak, embarrassment! That was his sister for StarClan's sake! he peaked out from behind his paws, "p….please…?" he whispered loud enough for the pretty molly to hear.
(Man. Now I feel bad that Shadowpaw has trust issues and not-too-great social skills.)

When he saw an elder, which was Gingerflake's mother Snowbird, lift her head from the fresh-kill pile to turn at him and Shadowpaw, he looked away. "uh..sorry." he grumbled, not really sounding apologetic. "but what do you mean? The Leaf-bare Ball is amazing! plus, I don't think you even went last time!"

"I…" Shadowpaw looked down at her paws, feeling more awkward and nervous then she had ever felt in her life. "I just… I don't… I'm not very…good…with others. Except for Hollypaw. The first time I went to a Gathering, I got into a fight with some WindClan apprentice." He had called her and Hollypaw rogues, so he deserved that clawed ear, but she still got in trouble. What was his name? Crystalpaw? "I haven't gone to another Gathering since. I always pretended I wasn't feeling well and stayed in the medicine den while everyone left." She glanced up at Adderpaw. "It's not that I don't want to go with you, I wouldn't really mind hanging out. It's just…" She looked back at her paws, "It's better for everyone if I don't go."
(By the way, I just feel like Crystalpaw is the most likely WindClan cat to call Shadow and Holly rogues.)

Adderpaw looked up at her, his amber eyes softened and his tail rested gently on her flank. "Shadowpaw…I think you just bumped into the wrong cat when you first went" he joked, when Shadowpaw didn't budge, he coughed. "Sorry. Not the right time…" he paused as he looked up, moving his tail under her chin she looked up and their eyes met. (a bit to romantic-y but hey- can't help it. I'm ♫♪Helpless~♫♪) Adderpaw smiled and then spoke. "Shadowpaw, can you please try to come this time? for me?"

Shadowpaw froze as her eyes met Adderpaw's. Sure, she had talked about her problems with Hollypaw before, but this was different. She didn't want to look away from his amber eyes. Adderpaw purred and nuzzled the smaller apprentice, he felt Shadowpaw hesitate to press back but he didn't force anything. "Thank you.." he mewed, when he was about to pull away to speak again, Shadowpaw pressed against him, but only for a few heart-beats. Adderpaw pulled away and smiled, a genuine, kind smile. "now I gotta go- I haven't finished my mask yet.." he sighed, looking away with a grumble "I mean, I already have the mask colored- I choose the best color, black- and I have the shape of but I just need to add my accessories! ooh! I have an idea!" drawing a bad sketch in the snow covered ground he pointed out what he did. "okay, so, im thinking about having two holly leaves on the sides and then a huge pine leaf in the middle! like…this!" he looked at the molly with a confident smirk, "What do you think, Shadowpaw?"
Shadowpaw nodded, her heart skipping a beat when Adderpaw smirked at her. "Sounds great." She said, looking at her paws. "I uh.. I could help you get the leaves…if you want." She added, looking at him with a nervous smile.

Adderpaw purred, "that'd be nice! come on!" he jumped to his paw, a bit of snow sprayed behind him. "race you to outside the camp!" Shadowpaw blinked and stood up but Adderpaw had already raced outside camp with a playful chuckle, Ravenshade jumped out of the way as her son raced past her. She sighed as she watched his tail disappear through the Torn Tunnel. Adderpaw continued to run, snow and snow melt let out a storm of its own behind him.
