Hunter pulled her off his lap and onto the couch, but wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pulled her close into his side. He ran his fingers through her soft hair before resting his head on hers.

(I’ll wait for you!!)

(So… Time-wise, it's probably about noon for them, so I'm sorry about this!)

Kenzie rested her head on Hunter's shoulder. As she breathed in, she caught the scent of pine and mint, an interesting but intoxicating mix.

Then her stomach rumbled, and Kenzie cringed and sat up. "Sorry," she apologized quietly. "I guess I'm a little hungry…"

(You’re back! I just came back from changing my brother’s diaper. I’m exhausted omg)

Hunter smirked at the sound.
“I’ll whip up something for us,” he said as he got up. “I may not look like it, but I’m an awesome chef.”

(Oh, fun.)

Kenzie followed Hunter into the kitchen, where he started pulling ingredients off the shelves.

"Let me help you," she volunteered, giving him a quick smile. "As you must have noticed earlier, I'm a pretty fantastic cook myself."

(OH MY GODS I'M SO SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG, I WAS AT SCHOOL AND HAD ZERO TIME AT ALL TO CHECK BUT OH MY FRICKIN GODS YES HUNTZIE!!! NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE MY HAPPINESS!!!!)

Hunter shook his head.
“No way, you go browse the TV or something,” he said. “You made the pancakes for me. I’ll make something for you in return.”

With a shrug of her shoulders, Kenzie said, "Okay, if you say so," and walked back to the couch. She turned on the tv and surfed the channels, finally landing on Agents of SHIELD.

Hunter thought of what he was going to make for Kenzie. With a curse, he realized he didn’t know what she liked to eat or not. Talk about his luck. Well, she didn’t seem like the type to be picky, but he hoped whatever he decided to make pleased her. So he set out to make lasagna, one of the dishes he was a pro at.

While she waited for Hunter to finish whatever it was that he was cooking, Kenzie's focus was on the tv. An older episode of SHIELD, the one where Skye shot Ward in the side multiple times, was playing. Kenzie chuckled to herself, knowing that he very well deserved it.

After torturous hours in the kitchen, Hunter was finally done. It smelled good, looked good, and he hopefully it tasted good, too. He didn’t want to disappoint Kenzie after all.
He set up the table and then called for Kenzie.
“Kenz, I’m done!” he called, a bit nervous. Keira was the one who had taught him how to cook, so he hoped he didn’t disappoint.

(I can't wait for S4 to come out on Netflix! My friends want to tell me what's happening so much, but I haven't seen it so they can't.)

(I have been procrastinating S3 so bad 🤣🤣)

Kenzie shot up as she heard Hunter call her. She could just smell the spaghetti sauce and spices, and her stomach growled again. The table was already set and a lasagna was set in the center. A big smile grew on Kenzie's face as she looked at it. It looked amazing, and she couldn't wait to eat it.

"Wow!" she exclaimed as she looked at everything. She gave Hunter a playfully unbelieving look. "That lasagna looks delicious! You actually cooked that yourself?"

Hunter gasped dramatically, putting a hand on his heart.
“You doubt my skills!” he exclaimed, horrified. “You hurt my feelings, Kenz!”
