Hawkwillow froze and stared at Fawnstar. Realising he needed to do something, he cleared his throat and moved closer to Owlheart and Mistpaw. "Rainfrost came looking for trouble with Owlheart and her apprentice. He threw a wild accusation and attacked his own apprentice when contradicted"
Owlheart nodded, shooting Rainfrost a glare and taking a step closer to Hawkwillow. Whatever you're up to Rainfrost, you won't hurt Hawkwillow. She thought to herself. Not on my watch.
(Owlheart be protective younger sister now.)
Fawnstar's head whipped around to face Rainfrost. "Is this true?" He asked, knowing a lie would probably answer. He looked to the two apprentices instead and repeated the question in a soft voice.
(FGEHJRGHDFSAEWRE Y'ALL REALLY CHANTING–)
Rainfrost flicked his torn ear, his lip curled. "and if it is?" he challenged, "you know I love to fight, but harm my own apprentice? thats insane…" Badgersnap walked over, nodding his big head, "yes. I do agree with Rainfrost. Even if he loves to fight, why would he willingly harm his own apprentice..?" Fawnstar paused, taking in the dark pelted tom's words. Breezetalon, a flat faced ragged dark blue-grey tom agreed with his littermate in a raspy tone. Brightflower, who was also on the patrol nodded, casting the WindClan patrol a glare. Her sleek dark ginger tabby pelt bristled, "yes…these WindClan cats still have my daughter in their camp, who knows if they want to start trouble as well?" The she turned towards the patrol, looking them up and down. "where is Cloudypaw?" she hissed. Rainfrost backed up in a peaceful manner, Flamepaw now directly beside him.
"Cloudypaw is safe. She's in our medicine den." Owlheart said, flicking her tail. "She'll be able to go back to ThunderClan as soon as she's better." She paused, "I know you're worried about her, but she's going to be just fine. our medicine cats are taking good care of her."
Brightflower flicked her ear, her clear hazel eyes softening slightly. "good..well…when you get back…please, tell her me, Poolwing and her littermates all say hi.." when Owlheart dipped her head she backed up, now standing beside Breezetalon. Breezetalon grumbled a quiet greeting, Brightflower twitched her whiskers in reply. Rainfrost curled his lip as Fawnstar still stood there, seemingly still thinking. He flicked his tail on Flamepaw's flank, "go back to camp.." he hissed through gritted teeth. Badgersnap nudged Breezetalon, whispering something in his brothers ear. Breezetalon nodded and walked over. "i'll take him back to camp.." the blue-grey tom mewed, "come on kid." he nudged Flamepaw's ear with his nose.

Mistpaw watched Flamepaw go with worried eyes. Please let him be okay. She thought, backing away from the stream. Please please please.
Hawkwillow stared at Fawnstar with wide almost pleading eyes. He was there long enough for Owlheart to notice before shaking his head and looking at his paws.
Fawnstar finally looked up, his pale green eyes flashed with uncertainty. "I will take you words into account but, Badgersnap has a point. Why would Rainfrost willingly harm his own apprentice?" Fawnstar looked away from Hawkwillow, that night had haunted him for the longest time. Plus, he shouldn't worry about his old lover..He had Smokewing. Sighing, his flicked his tail in the direction of his patrol. "Lets go." he meowed, quickly looking over his shoulder he calming spoke. "I will send a patrol tomorrow at sun-high to retrieve Cloudypaw. She is young and still needs to continue training." When none of the WindClan cat spoke he walked back through the bushes. Im sorry. he thought, his mind drifting to Hawkwillow. I wish I could take back what I said…what I did…. When Rainfrost slowed, still glaring at the WindClan patrol through the canopy of lush green trees, he snapped at the dark pelted warrior making him flinch. "Don't think you've gotten off Scott free, Rainfrost." Rainfrost golden eyes widened at the leaders tone. "You will be punished when we return to camp. Not only have you been accused of harming your own Apprentice, the cat that…your father… has trusted you and training well, you also left the medicine cat den without permission, I have also been seen harming Swiftstar. I suggest you change your behavior before ThunderClan loses one of its best fighters." Rainfrost gulped, his eyes flickered down to floor as he grumbled something under his breath but didn't speak up as he sped past the golden-brown leader. Fawnstar watched Rainfrost for a few moments before he raced ahead to catch up with his patrol.

this was an old line Mosis made about Shadowclaw in early beginnings of the old rp- now. Shadowclaw is still "deputy" when running into Dewpaw and Silverpaw and yet he still has his lives. Did I make a whole explanation that made some sense on why Shadowclaw has lives? yes. yes I did. Am I willing to share it? also yes. ))

IDEA ONE -
Shadowclaw was made deputy early and when the old leader died, Shadowclaw stepped down and made his father leader, his father than made Shadowclaw deputy (again) and instead of Adderstar gaining 9 lives, Shadowclaw was given 3 and his father the rest. Adderstar is given body guards just in case, When Whitestar kills Adderstar, Shadowclaw is killed, he now has only two lives left. When running off, Shadowclaw becomes a rouge and dies again while fighting a cat for prey. And then finally, when Shadowclaw runs into Dewpaw and Silverpaw, that might explain why Shadowclaw is a bit stressed about not wanting to lose his last life.
IDEA TWO -
Shadowclaw was made deputy early, the clan didn't agree with such a young cat leading the clan and a vote was held. This time, it was an even vote between Adderstar- then known as Adderbranch- and Shadowclaw. Not knowing what to do, both Shadowclaw and Adderbranch both went to the moonpool and both toms gained four lives each, StarClan then decided Adderbranch was the correct choice for leader and Shadowclaw kept four lives while Adderbranch gained one more, now having five lives. Going back to the ShadowClan, Shadowclaw lost a life on the way back from the trip. Now having, only three lives left. Finally back in the clan, Adderbranch announces he is now Adderstar then he lies and says he was given all nine lives. The Clan celebrates with a feast and then Adderstar makes Shadowclaw deputy. When Shadowclaw runs into Dewpaw and Silverpaw, that why hes stressed. (oh and a mini headcanon- when Shadowclaw officially becomes Shadowstar, he's given 8 lives instead of 9.)

the only toms who I know who don't haves mates in WindClan are Splashnose and Redfern- OH! and Tigerthistle. but Tigerthistle isn't really interested in having a mate…well, we still got Splash and Red :T ))

"Sorta." Hawkwillow said, watching the ThunderClan patrol reach the trees. He looked down at Mistpaw, "Can you keep a secret Mistpaw?"
Mistpaw was still looking across the border. "Huh?" She looked at Hawkwillow, realizing that he had spoken. "Oh, secret keeping. Yeah." She nodded at him, then shot a quick glance back at the stream. "What secret?" She tipped her head to one side, looking at Hawkwillow curiously.
"Well, a few moons ago, while Whitestar was still leader, I met Fawnle- Fawnstar at a gathering and we became friends." Hawkwillow swallowed and looked down. "We met at the border almost every night and we became mates. But Whitestar found out and threatened to tell the clans. We-" His voice broke and he took a few seconds. "We had to stop seeing each other. After Whitestar died, I thought that maybe we could at least be friends again but we haven't seen each other since then. We'll I guess we just did but you know."

Owlheart stared at Hawkwillow, her eyes wide. "Wow. That's… I'm sorry." She brushed her tail against his flank. "But how did Rainfrost find out? Did Whitestar tell him? And anyway, it happened moons ago. Why is he bringing it up now?" She let out a growl and glared across the border. "I swear I'll.. I'll-"
"I don't know. It was only a couple of moons ago when we had to call it off but-" He cut off and sighed. "I left Ashpaw this way. Walk with me?"
