"Lia. And well, you saw what happened to Ella." Eli's voice was neither welcoming nor hostile, but somewhere in between.
"Lia. And well, you saw what happened to Ella." Eli's voice was neither welcoming nor hostile, but somewhere in between.
Haile nodded. "Shame. She had such a beautiful voice."
"That she got from an injection of genetics. Honestly if it were me, I'd keep my raspy old man voice."
Haile shook his head. "Actually, she was one of the only ones who wasn't touched."
"Wait really?!" Eli groaned. "Lying b**."
"Alice again? You trust her?"
He shrugged. "We had a long conversation. She seemed…more decent than I thought he was."
Haile nodded. "You'd be surprised."
"I was. When she's not trying to kill me, she's alright."
Haile let out a rough laugh. "HA indeed." He yawned. "I imagine your friends are on their way?"
"Probably. I recommend that you stay here."
Haile let his head fall back against the wall. "Very well."
Eli tapped his foot impatiently. They better get here soon…
Leo ran through the corridors, starting to get lost. Where had the sound come from? "Eli?" he called cautiously.
Eli looked up. "Over here!" He yelled, keeping an eye on Haile.
Ana heard his voice. "That way!"
Leo followed Ana. They slowed as they thought they were approaching.
Haile stared right back at Eli, exhausted by these kids' uselessness.
Ana approached the ghostly form of Eli, seeing Haile a few feet away.
Haile let his head flop to the side when he heard footsteps. "Took you long enough."
Leo looked down at his foot and saw with satisfaction that it was still bleeding.
Once Lia and Jace entered the room, Lia immediately reappeared. "Oh, good, you're all here."
Griffin looked up. “Hmm?”
Leo looked over as Lia and Jace walked in. He waved them over. "Did he say anything?" Leo asked Eli.
Haile nodded. "Shame. She had such a beautiful voice."
(he was talking about Ella)
