Lia watched as her friends perform with grace. She's glad that it has gone so well tonight because she doesn't want to see again what happens after a mistake. Lia looked over to where the ringmaster was standing, and let out a breath when she saw that he a pleased look on his face.
Eleanore stomped her foot down with the end of the song. Chest heaving, she raised her arms to the audience and grinned.
The audience exploded into vigirous applause as Griffin grinned, taking deep breaths high in the air.
Ana grinned as she looked around at her friends. The ringmaster seemed pleased, and she released a breath. We did it…
Eleanore sunk into a bow. She caught her breath, turning to another side of the audience and bowed again.
Eli put out the fire on his batons and bowed as well, smiling at Ana as he turned around.
Ana released herself from the split, her legs beginning to ache. She stayed suspended in the air and used a free hand to wave at the audience.
Griffin lowered himselff to the ground, grasping his teammates’hands and they all bowed together, grinning broadly. Someone from the audience threw a bouquet of flowers, and Griffin picked it up, handing it to Eleanore.
Eleanore took the bouquet from Griffin and put her arm around his shoulders, waving up at the audience. The curtain fell (as in closed).
Griffin held his arms out, calling “Group Hug!!”
Eleanore laughed and threw her arms around Griffin.
Eli cheered and joined the hug with Ana. "We did it!" He shouted.
Lia waved with a smile on her face until the curtain falls. Once it falls, she immediately did a quick check to see if anyone was severely injured. Everyone seemed okay for the most part. She laughed and joined the others in a hug. She knew that they had a short time to catch up before the ringmaster returned.
“Great job everyone!! Ana, amazing job on the silks, Eli, spectacular. Lia and Ghs, that was awesome. And Jace, we knew you could do it!” He turned to Eleanore. “That was beautiful.”
She blushed and shuffled her feet. "Thanks," she mumbled.
Eli and Ana exchanged a look. "Lovebirds…" Ana signed to him.
Griffin caught this exchange and blushed, averting his eyes.
Lia watched Griffin and Eleanore and smiled. She's glad that her friends are able to remain happy even in these hard times.
The ringmaster entered the back room. "Good, everyone. Lia, work on your foot techniques. Ana, try for a bit of elegance. Griffin, don't get carried away. Jace… well, let's not even get started." He nodded at the group. "Everyone down to dinner. Now."
Ana nodded. Elegance..I knew I was missing something…elegance…
Lia nods. She walked to the small dining hall and sat in a seat next to her brother, who's act she didn't catch since he was at the very beginning of the show. "You'll be okay?" she asked.
"Yeah, of course," he responded, forcing a small smile on his face.
Eli sat down next to Ana, patting her on the back. "Good job." He signed to her. She looked down at the table. "You to. The ringmaster didn't even mention anything you did wrong.."
Eleanore sat in front of Jace. "Hey, Jace, forget about him. You were incredible." Leo sat next to him and bumped his shoulder. "She's right, man."
This time, the smile on Jace's face was real. "Thanks, guys." Lia gave him a side hug. "You did great. If he tries to do anything to you, I'll defend you," she told him.
Leo's face fell. "Guys, we're not even 18. We shouldn't be worrying about being beaten to death." He put his face in his hands.
Eli nodded, turning to Jace. "We all will. We've got each other's backs."
