Griffin wanted more than anything to run, but he whirled around and ran back to the ringmaster. “Explain.”

"Explain what, exactly?" The ringmaster replied.

“The mangled bodies in the thee room.”

"Oh? It looks like we're not the only ones in the building." The ringmaster said with an evil smile.
Lia pushed through everyone to face him. "You're not going to help us. You did this, didn't you?"
The ringmaster just shrugged in response.

Leo slapped him, hard. "You did this, didn't you?" he repeated.

The ringmaster sighed. “Obviously I didn’t. But yeas, I knew.”

"Who is it? Don't make me use this." Lia said, holding her baseball bat back up.

The ringmaster raised an eyebrow. “An old acquaintance.”

"Name?" Leo pushed.

“Alice Murray.”

Leo frowned. "Who is she?"

"And why is she doing this?" Lia added.

The ringmaster shrugged. “We all have psychopathic tendencies. I have no idea.”

"Don't lie to us."

“And What makes you think I’m lying?”

"You have zero reasons for us to trust you."

"Why wouldn't you be lying?" Jace snorted.

Eli had been surprisingly silent throughout all of this. "It doesn't seem like he's lying," Ana told the group quietly.

Leo turned to her. "How do you know?"
