Lia grabbed her baseball bat again and held it tightly, watching the two men carefully.
Griffin clenched his fists as his father woke up, glancing around at his surroundings in a daze.
His gaze landed on Griffin. "Hello, son. What'd I miss?"
Griffin gritted his teeth. Not your son. "What do you know about this place?", he demanded.
Haile looked around the room. "Well, it's a rather gloomy looking place where my good friend hosts Circuses."
"Anything else? Out of the ordinary things?"
"There have been ghost sightings. Oh, and my friend isn't as bad as you'd like to think."
Griffin ignored the last bit, shooting his friends a triumphant look. "Go into more deatil about the ghosts."
"By friend, do you mean him?" Jace said and pointed to the ringmaster. "Because I disagree."
"Ay, I mean him. And I know you disagree, but you're wrong to." He looked back at Griffin. "All sorts of ghosts."
Griffin stopped himself from rolling his eyes at this lack of detail. "And..?", he invited.
"Um, well… let's see here. They were always of people who had died here. And they always seemed to want something."
(there were never of people?)
(uh sorry my mistake)
"Which was…..?"
He shrugged. "How should I know?"
"How'd they die? Were they all kids forced to be here like us?" Elliot asked, crossing his arms.
Haile stared at Eli a moment before bursting into laughter. "No, they were here willingly."
"Don't know why anyone would want to be here…" Eli grumbled.
Haile shook his head derisively.
"Willingly? I find that hard to believe." Jace frowned.
Ana watched the group as she leaned against the wall.
"There's a lot you kids don't know."
"Well could you tell us?" Eli asked, a little bit of sarcasm in his voice.
