"Let's just…" He picked up the remote, turning on the tv.
"Let's just…" He picked up the remote, turning on the tv.
Rose practically flinched when the TV was turned on, his eyes a bit wide. “Is that a TV?” He asked, watching the screen with amazement.
He smiled slightly, nodding
“Master didn’t have one of these..” Rose mumbled before speaking up a bit more. “What is it supposed to do?” He asked.
"Pictures and sound come on and you watch it."
“Where do the pictures and sound come from?” Rose asked, looking away from the screen and back to Allen. He seemed to be slightly calming down by now, feeling safer by not being out in the open.
"Uh… it's kinda hard to explain."
“Oh, okay,” Rose said with a nod. After a moment of him staring at the TV screen, there was a hard knock on the front door. He gave a startled squeak, eyes wide as he stared at the door. “It’s him, the man- I just know it is!” He whimpered quietly.
He stood. "Okay, Rose, listen, I need you to go to the basement, okay? I'll get you see, I promise."
Rose gave Allen a startled look before nodding his head a tad and scurrying away to find the basement. After a moment of looking around, he found it and went down the stairs slowly, breathing heavily as he did so. There was another loud, impatient knock on the front door, one that made him wince.
Allen grabbed the bat he left by the stairs, opening the door enough to see the man outside. "I ain't interested in whatever religion, I'm an atheist." He said, trying to keep it cool, as if he had no clue who this guy was.
“I’m not here to offer religion. I’m looking for my kid. He’s about average height, white hair, red eyes, pale- it’s imoissible to miss him. Have you seen him around?” The man asked Allen.
He shook his head. "Can't say I have."
“You sure?” The man asked, glancing inside, then back at Allen.
While that was going on, Rose was sitting on the floor of the basement. He had his knees pulled up to his chest, with his arms wrapped around them. He was terrified out of his mind, afraid that Allen would give him away.
"Very. I'd think I'd remember seeing him." He said impatiently. "Now, I have things to do, so if that's all you came for…"
“Yeah, thanks..” The man said, stepping away and walking down the driveway to the street. Rose could hear when the door shut, but he didn’t move from his spot on the floor.
He sighed, putting the bat back and walking to the basement door. "Rose? He's gone."
Rose heard Allen’s voice, and he took a shuddering breath before getting to his feet. He walked to the door, opening it and looking up at Allen. “You’re sure?” He squeaked out.
He nodded. "Watched him walk away."
Rose gave a small nod before rubbing at his eyes with the backs of his hands. “I’m tired,” he mumbled, his lips in a slight pout like shape.
"Wanna go to bed?"
“Mhm,” Rose hummed in response, nodding his head a bit. He wrapped his arms around himself, looking down as he did so.
"Come on." He said softly.
Rose followed Allen to where a bedroom was, arms still wrapped around himself. When he got into the room he looked around, it being much bigger than the place where he had to sleep in.
He lead him over to the bed. "Come on, you need sleep."
