Your character is a real person trapped in a rental video game, controlled by their programming and playing through the same exact story over and over again, hoping somebody would save them. They have no power over their words or actions, and after a few weeks of hopeless attempts to break their code, a player discovers a bug in the game. The bug enables the character to break their code. Finally, they have a chance to be set free.
But they have to be careful. If they say too much too fast, they could scare off the player, and possibly crash the game.

This RP can include romance or not, it's up to you. You can be either the player or the game character, your choice.

Oh I would love to do this, but I'm so busy and un-inspired…

Sure? Do we have a temp? (I think I may be in a Rp w/ you, but not a O/O)

Deleted user

Okay! Are you planning on playing a guy or girl? I lean towards playing girls, but I can play either.

Maybe the person trapped? It doesn't matter much. What does matter is the kind of game it is and its mechanics…

@SaltyLasagna

Yeah, we should probably figure it out. Any sort of game would work. A horror game would add to the trapped character's fear and anxiety. A romance game would help develop feelings if we decided we wanted to do romance. A game where graphics are bad, maybe even an 8-bit game, would make the character less believable if they were to ask the player for help.
We could pick a game to base this off of, if you want. I don't play too many video games but I know some atypical games as well as typical video games that we could base this off of.

I'm a bit of a video game nerd myself, so… :D
Maybe action/horror?

Completely random game came to my head: Elsword(? I've seen ads…). It's a mmorpg (Maybe? Yes? No? Idk?)

The player chooses one of twelve possible characters that have different attacking styles, moves, etc. It's in an anime-like style, and they go fight bosses and stuff like that. I'm not that much into the game.

@SaltyLasagna

Ah, okay. I'm thinking an online multiplayer game would be more difficult to do, because we would most likely need more than two people to make it really interesting.

@SaltyLasagna

Yeah, that sounds good
Can you describe the game in a bit more detail? (I have restricted internet access and lots of websites are blocked, including websites about video games, so I can't look it up)

I'm not that much of a nerd/geek about it but the basics are:

  • Monsters have been reported to be seen and are causing bad things to happen
  • You, a hero, have to fight the monsters and figure out why they've come
  • You fight bosses, and they (obviously) increase their difficulty as you play along
  • Players, at each level, can use points to increase their skills (kinda like Skyrim)
