amy (the most wonderful woman in the world) sighed and lay on her bed, Thank goodness school's done for the week. Oh, how I love Fridays! she stood up and walked over to her computer to look at the news, Are they still buying this 'meteor creates phenomenons' stuff? she sighed and closed out of the tab. When it did, it revealed the first five letters of the huge five page essay due Monday, "Crap! I totally forgot!" she slapped her forehead and started on her essay… by playing video games…
Yeon darted down a wide open field, kicking a soccer ball ahead of him. He breathed heavily as he faked left, shifting past a larger boy. He laughed loudly when the boy stumbled and fell to the ground with a curse. He sprinted closer to the goal and shot it sharply, the ball shooting into the net.
“¡Oye! ¡Un punto más para mí!” He exclaimed in seemingly fluent Spanish as a few of his teammates gave him slaps on the back.
(Translation: Hey! One more point for me!)
Grayson sighed, leaning forward as he played on his phone. He was sitting in the back of the high school auditorium, waiting for choir rehearsal to end. I don't understand why I have to stay. I'm not even practicing for the rest of the time.
Evelyn shut her eyes and leaned her head against the wall behind her, the imprint of the book she’d been reading still echoing on her eyelids. She opened her eyes and stood up, grabbing her backpack, slipping the book inside, and cautiously stepping out of the janitor’s closet where she’d hidden from the girls who always tried to bully her a half-hour beforehand. School was out for the week, but other pepole’s social lives still went on. Evelyn considered herself lucky to not have one if that’s that they were like.
Grayson hummed along to the song the younger choir was singing as he scrolled through his phone, tapping his foot along to the beat. "Will the circle be unbroken? By and by, Lord, by and by. There's a better home awaiting. In the sky, Lord, in the sky." He sang softly, his voice an octave lower than the girls singing.
Kaden parked himself on a bench at the park, doing anything to stay away from his house–and parents. He plugged his earbuds into his phone and turned on his music. Taking out his laptop, he began to start his terrible weekend homework. At least math was like a second nature to him. Opening the Google tab, he noticed the front page had a picture of a meteor. He rolled his eyes. Like a meteor would ever hit earth. Last time that happened was like, a bajillion years ago. Okay, so history wasn't one of his best subjects.
Evelyn found a secluded corner chair in the school’s library and settled into it. Her brother would pick her up at 6, so she had two hours to read.
