Zanna looked at Paige, "Probably was some drugs in there."
Darren approached Jacob slowly; cautiously. "Hey man, you okay?" Darren's voice came out unexpectedly shaky and nervous.
"I would be surprised." Paige mumbled, sitting up and tying her hair back again. "It seems like something this school would do."
Jacob's head snapped up and he looked up at the boy like a deer caught in headlights. "W-what?" He stuttered.
"Are you okay," Darren repeated a little more confidently.
"You seem upset." Darren sat down next to Jacob
"Notice how I'm not eating," Zanna gestured to the space in front of her.
Paige shrugged. "I ate. I'd rather be drugged than die of starvation."
"And here's the difference between us," Zanna stated, "Starvation and Drugs."
"One of the many, many differences." Paige added on, leaning her elbows on the table.
"Remind me again why I haven't hit you yet?" Zanna asked.
Paige chuckled. "Because you need allies here, and I do too."
"U-uh, u-um…." Jacob's cheeks flushed. He shoved his sandwhich in his mouth to shut himself up.
The boys sat in near perfect silence for a few minutes until Darren grew restless again. "So how'd you get here?" "You didn't kill anyone did you?" Darren joked.
He shook his head and kept eating. He kept his eyes trained in front of him.
"Ah yes," Zanna said, "That's why."
"Do you talk?" Darren pushed. He heard the iciness in his voice but didn't seem to care.
"That's why we're all actually eating together." Paige pointed out, gesturing to the group sitting at the table.
He swallowed his bite. "Y-yes." He stuttered. He kept his eyes away from the boy.
"Sweet" Darren seemed to be at a loss for words until he found his way again. "You never answered my question, why are you here?"
"Yep," Zanna slightly laughed.
Paige sighed. "I kind of hope that the food was drugged. That way I can miss class for the rest of the day."
Zanna got up and grabbed a sandwich, "Please be drugged please be drugged."
Paige let out a small laugh. "Maybe we can skip. It probably wouldn't be the best thing to do here, but if I hear someone talk about how 'disrespectful' and 'horrid' I am I'll punch them."
