Elizabeth sat down on a couch in the 'hang out', which was a building where teens could hang out and do homework and other stuff like that. She wondered when her friends would get there. Eventually. She thought, then laughed.
aubrey went up to the counter ordering a coconut milk dark chocolate coffee/shake thing.
Elizabeth spotted one of her friends Aubrey at the counter. "Hey Aubrey!" She called gently. "I'm over here!"

Hazel walked into the room, no friends whatsoever in the building. Her mom had wanted her to come, just for kicks.
aubrey saw Elizabeth wave to her quickly she grabbed her drink starting to walk toward where Elizabeth was.
Elizabeth spotted a girl around her age standing awkwardly to the side. Elizabeth walked over. "Hey! You must be new here! My name's Elizabeth, but you can call me Liz, Lizzie, Liza, whatever suits you. What's your name?" Elizabeth was careful to take slowly without rambling, as to not scare the girl or make her uncomfortable.
Hazel smiled. "I'm Hazel. Nice to meet you!" she exclaimed. The she leaned a little closer. "is it that obvious that I'm new?" she whispered
Elizabeth laughed. "Yes. For one, everyone comes in running with a huge smile on their face and with bags of stuff like homework or supplies for the activities that we have here, and also because you are standing in the 'red zone'. Danger of falling objects." She explained laughing, seeing Hazel's confused look. Then she quickly pulled Hazel to the side as a duffel bag came falling through the opening in the ceiling.

aubrey saw Elizabeth and a other girl talking quickly she grabbed her drink coming over to say hello.
Hazel laughed. "Thanks Liz!" she said. Then she saw another girl approach. "Hello!" she said happily.
turning to the other girl aubrey replied smiling "hey."
"you new"?
Hazel laughed at how obvious it was that she didn't fit in. "Yeah I'm new. I moved here this morning, and my mom said I needed to make new friends."
Elizabeth laughed. "Well you've already made two."
aubrey nodded yeah.
