Andion took a breath, "Yup." He knocked on the door.
"Who is it, what do you want?" A deep voice answered.
"It's someone you haven't seen in-"
Andion couldn't even finish before the door was opened and was pulled into an embrace by a man with brown coloured haired and green eyes, his jaw lined with a little stubble.
"Nice to see you too, James." Andion chuckled.
"And who is this with you?" James asked, looking to Blaine.
Blaine smiled at Andion's friend.
"I'm Blaine," she introduced herself. "I've heard a bit about you, James."
"All good things I hope," James chuckled, "Please, come in. You never know who's out there this time of night."
James beckoned them both inside and up a set of spiral stairs to the second level where a living room was splayed out, "Make yourself at home."
"Thank you," Blaine said as she stepped inside, though she stayed by Andion. If he sat down, so would she.
Andion made his way over to a double seated couch and sat down while James went and changed into something more presentable.
"So, first impressions of James?"
"He's nice," Blaine said sincerely, smiling at Andion as she sat beside him. "Polite, which I wasn't expecting."
"What were you expecting?" Andion asked, giving Blaine a smile.
"Well… Tough and cold, honestly. I mean, you didn't exactly tell me that much about him," Blaine said with a shrug.
"Okay, well yeah his tough and cold when he wants to be but really he's just a big softie. He's been out of the continent for trade deals and stuff along those lines," Andion explained, "Because e's always away, that's why he can read those runes we found."
"Makes sense," Blaine said with a nod. "Did you happen to bring anything with them on it, or are we going to bring him back to the guild?"
"There's a couple books in my bag outside, I'll get them when James gets back. Gods knows what that man is doing." Andion chuckled.
"Yeah, where is he, anyway?" Blaine chuckled softly. "I mean, not that I mind spending time alone with you…"
"He is right here!" James laughed as he walked out the hall and sat down on a seat in front of them, "Now, what can I help you with today? As much as I'm glad to see you, Andion you must have a reason for coming."
Andion nodded, "Yeah, we do."
"Which is?"
"We're wondering if you can read runes," Blaine explained, turning her attention to him. "A specific set of them."
James lent forward onto his knees, "Do you have the runes with you?"
"I do, they're in bag outside." Andion said, standing and making his towards the stairs.
"So, Blaine. I see Andion hasn't killed you with his annoyingness yet." James said chuckling.
"No, he hasn't," Blaine agreed, chuckling with him. "He's been great."
"I'm glad to hear that," James gave Blaine a smile, "He was never one for relationships, but I'm glad he has someone."
Blaine grinned. "Yeah, I'm glad we realized that we don't actually hate each other," she said with a light laugh.
“Ah, yeah,”
James was about to say something else when Andion walked back in with a couple books.
“We were researching the markings on the door to the library at the guild and found these. They look similar to the ones carved into the wood.” He said, placing the book down in front of James who began to read.
Blaine watched him for a moment, curious.
"Can you read them?" she finally asked after a few minutes.
“Yes, I can. Although I’m curious as to why these are on the door to the library.” James said, not looking up.
"What do they say?" Blaine questioned, bouncing her leg impatiently.
“These runes haven’t been around for centuries. They’re ancient, no one speaks this language anymore.” James explained.
"Okay… So what do they say?" Blaine repeated herself. Patience wasn't exactly her strong suit.
James looked up at Andion who shrugged. James sighed, “It’s going to take a little while to decode them, all I know right now is it speaks of some… prophecy but I don’t know for sure.”
